On a lot of the home decorating make over shows on TV they are putting places for shoes by the door, little cabinets or baskets, etc. I always thought why don't these people put their shoes away in the closet, now I know that apparently it's a big trend to take them off. Good to know about Canada in case I ever go. If someone took their shoes off when coming into my house house I would think, wow, kind of familiar aren't you, will you be putting on your PJ's next and staying the night? Although I don't usually wear shoes at home I don't like being asked to remove them at someone elses house. I once went to the home of a friend's relative who is a filthy hoarder and was asked to take my shoes off. The floor that you could see was black with dirt. I didn't want my feet in that filth so I didn't remove them. She offered slippers but they were even more disgusting. Even in an apparently clean home I don't know what is on that floor or worse yet in those slippers that have had tons of other feet in them. Yuck. I've been to homes for sale that provide those paper booties that they wear in hospitals, that is a more sanitary option as they go over your shoes. I'm not one to care about fashion, just the yuck factor of being barefoot on someone elses floor or worse yet in their slippers. Etiquette at Home: Solutions to The Great Shoe Debate |

The place is really cute and appears much larger than it is. Don't know why people are disturbed by the little box in the tub, I think it's gross to have it in the livingroom or dining room or under an end table, that's what a bathroom is for. I also keep my cats litter box in the tub, out of site and the litter doesn't end up all over the floor, just use my little wisk broom and dust pan from the Dollar Tree to sweep it up from the tub. We don't use the tub in that bathroom and if guests are nosey enough to pull back the curtain to peek then they get what they get, they are probably the same people who will peek in your medicine cabinet. Yuck, too busy and the worst colors. Like chevrons but the small ones are too busy, maybe some file folders, but that would be it for me. It's Almost Here: Missoni for Target Marketplace |

I've seen those tiny chairs on Cash & Cari on HGTV, did you get them from the estate sale or from her shop or is it coincidence, maybe a lot of people made tiny chairs from cans. Very cute perched on top of a painting. What are those metal wire things sticking out from the wall? Love the plates, well, love almost everything!! Scott's Global Pop Art Pad House Tour |

I agree with pricing. I keep a box in my garage and when I run across something in the house that should be sold I stick a preprinted sticker on it and into the box it goes. That way when it's time for the sale everything is already priced. Another good tip for sales is to hold them on the first weekend of the month when most people have money, welfare checks, social security checks, people who get paid monthly, etc. Survey: Having a Yard Sale - To Price or Not to Price? |

At the beginning of this piece it said minimalists avert your eyes --- I had to look anyway. I love it. Even though I'm not a clutter person I'm drawn to all the vintage, chippy paint pieces. I have one of those type setting drawers filled with little items from my childhood that I find at antique fairs. Until I saw yours, I had forgotten about the wall hung can opener we had when I was a child, I think it was red. Now I'm on a search to find one for me. Love your place and your style and glad I didn't avert my eyes. Stacey & John's Crazy Quilt of An Apartment House Tour |

Love the color scheme, very soothing. Also, the bed, I want it. Too much clutter for me, but that is personal taste and &rew has taste for sure even if it isn't everyone's taste. Andrew's Parisian Remix House Tour |

Those who were looking for the bed, check picture 17. The TV is in the first picture on the right covered with brown cloth. The tour in the small cool link shows the TV pulled out. Great place, also a big difference from the small cool tour, lots more stuff but still neat and organized. Erin & Danny Living Together in Only 500 Square Feet House Tour |

I love it, cool, serene, clean and feminine without being girly (except for the dressing area). Seriously wish I could re-do my kitchen like this one but can't afford it. Love that gray seems to be coming back in style again. The dogs are adorable (on Edyta's website) and their pictures should be included here. Edyta's Modern with a Dab of Drama Home House Tour |

Love the house, one of my all time favorites. Of course the dogs bring it up a notch, they are adorable. Love the dining room chairs and the horse on the dining table, where did it come from? I saw "wood horses" listed in the resources but it looks like metal? I didn't even notice there weren't any curtains until people commented and I had to go back and look. I'm not a fan of curtains, they always make me think of dust, so it looks great to me to be able to see the trim moldings. Anthony & Gregory's 1912 Contemporary Craftsman House Tour |
