My boyfriend Eric and I went to a glass/plastic store in Burbank to reface our kitchen cabinets. I cant seem to find the card right now, so I'll have to repost it after I ask Eric, OR you could GOGGLE it. Im not sure if they will have mirrored glass or plexi, but its worth a shot. Their prices were really good too. Best of luck, and I'll try to get the name later today :)

Thank you AT, Gregory, Enrique, Emily, and DWR for such a wonderful evening!!! I had such a wonderful time and I'm sure Eric will be posting later that he did as well. I was as suprised with him being able to make it as you are. :) I would like to say a big CONGRATS to LONDON, LAURA, VICTOR & SOEUN, AND RON for placing 1st -4th. I dont really see it as any body being robbed either. At the end of the day all of the entries get to come home to an amazing place. Doesn't that make EVERYONE a WINNER!?
Thanks again!!!

What are the squares on the one wall? Paint?

Thanks for all of the really great comments so far!! To answer a few questions..... Boomer and Substance12- all of the artwork on the walls are painted on. They are not made from stencils or wall decals...The grid wall- we hand taped off the type of grid we wanted and mapped out our repeat. For the fern/flower- i made a drawing on 8''X10'' paper, multiplied it by a coefficient (which blew it up to 900%). I taped off the stems, and then hand drew the petals. I used a white water soluble sewing pencil to sketch out my ideas then painted them in. The pencil allowed me to make real sketches and later go back with a brush and water to remove the lines. As for the bathroom- we taped it off with 1'' tape every other inch in order to get the sticks level. I made my own stencil for the pills. I cant even tell you how many hours have put into the paintings, but they are one of my favorite parts about our apt. Im happy to know so many of you feel the same way. Hope my answers helped the questions. :)

Southwest Semi-Finalist #3: Eric and Ammo's Eye-Catching Abode

Futurama on La Brea!!!! My boyfriend and I had all of his furniture custom made there for a really GREAT price. Included was a cut of monkey pod, his grandfather brought back from the war. We had it made into a coffee table... The store is closing soon, however, its worth the effort to check it out ASAP. If its not for you, then you can still look into other options. Hope it works out for you.

I currently live in Hollywood with my loving boyfriend. My dream is to we a west sider. SM/ Venice. The beach is my life! I also work on 3rd St. For me, driving all the way to work is a major hassle in my life. By the time I get home from work, if I want to go out to the west side or visit friends or even go to the beach on my time off, its a PAIN! Most times I end up not going b/c of time/traffic.....My point is, you have to decide.... How far away is work from where you live? How far do you live from what you love? Im telling you now, if its too far, you will loose site of what you love.----I hope my rambling point helps you out!

Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?

I just wanted to say thanks to all for commenting on our space. I love it!!! I can understand how its difficult to see ALL of the work Eric and I have done in just 3 pictures.

Sunhaven is right by saying "With an apt the size of a postage stamp, some compromises inevitably need to be made." Eric and I decided that with our space being so small we wanted to maximize every inch, and we have. Most of our belongings are able to be stored in our closet, which is excessable from two sides and is about 5'wide,4' deep, and 6' tall. It is a major blessing. Being a girl, Im blessed for all the storage for my clothes and shoes. Our
bathroom also has alot of storage space. Thanks LuxuryLA for pointing out my secret storage spot! :)

The main thing to remember is if you dont NEED something why have it. I love coming home and knowing that there is so much stuff that we have that isnt visable. If only you could see under the bed (ha)!

Thank you thebit by saying "I don't love the layout. If I lived in a studio, I would really have to partition/separate the living area from the sleep area." This is a great point! We live in a "rented studio." We felt that by separating our space we would be making it more coffin-like, if you will. We think by leaving it open it gives us more to work with.

I wish that we were allowed more pictures. Then you could see how we have space for a piano even. Also you would be able to view two of our DIY light boxes. One being 4'x4' and the other 8'x3'.

I hope some of my responses shed a little light on our home. I look forward to reading many more comments. Best of luck to all the people who entered. I know how much time and effort everyone has put in. Also thank you to the people who and taking time out to vote and post comments.
