I love your Za'atar Popcorn!
A favorite movie theatre recently reopened after a big remodel. They offer 3 kinds of popcorn: regular "theatre" popcorn with butter, kettlecorn and corn popped in olive oil, drizzled with soy butter (a healthier choice). The olive oil popcorn was good but I am thinking how delicious adding Za'atar would be!

Day 3: Treating My Home to Flowers & Green Cleaners Liveblogging the January Cure

First items in my outbox are 8 green cloth placemats. I donated another 12 to Vietnam Veterans just yesterday. I didn't even realize I still had these. I have lived in my small (downsized) house for 14 years and have never used them in this house. Out with the old (from my former house).
Feels good to get started!

I was at Jayson's this summer and bought a horn handled cheese spreader as a hostess gift when I visited a friend's cottage in northern Michigan. The horned handle is shaped like antlers and was a big hit at the up north cottage. I LOVE Jayson's!

Cold, left over spaghetti!
Fried bologna with ketchup!
Thin sliced, cold, left over meatloaf with mustard!
Peanut butter and crispy bacon (occasionally with sliced banana).
Mom also liked butter with sprinkled white sugar on white bread.
My dad liked fried Spam sammies....
I wasn't a fan of either of these.

I am laughing out loud at some of these posts. The pictures they paint...
My dad would have the occasional beer, especially during summer/baseball months. My mom rarely drank but I do recall her making/serving grass hoppers and brandy alexanders at Christmas. My mom, her sister and all the ladies would drink these. It always seemed very festive to me!
Once I left a bottle of Frangelico at her house after a family party. I never saw it again. She confided that she would have a little glass each time she ironed and before she new it the bottle was empty. :)

Something my parents called "ring baloney". My mother boiled it in water. My dad ate it with horseradish and mustard (I think). I hated the hot, greasy smell and the sound it made when you stuck a fork in it to cut the meat. Fortunately, I was never forced to eat it after the one time I tried it. YUCK! I wonder what it was (is).

Hmmmm, interesting comment. I think this pasta dish looks amazing and is well photographed. Staging is pleasing to the eye and the dish looks delish! I love the idea of using Greek yogurt instead of cheese but do agree that soft brie or goat cheese could be substituted for another twist on this dish.

I love Lake Street Market! Each summer these are staples on the breakfast table of my friend's cottage. This year I ordered some to enjoy at Christmas. As I live nowhere near Boyne City I had them sent to my house. They were very nicely packaged, still frozen when they arrived. Delicious! I ordered 1 sweet (apple walnut) and 1 savory (ham and cheese)...Each log can be sliced into 6-8 pieces....My mouth is watering just writing about them!
