Hi, this is oddly a hard thing to find, we read lots of books in the car and at our house and finding something without characters is sometimes hard. We use these - all the time: Nice, Non-Character Board Books That Make Sound Good Questions |

We did the breathable bumper - for both our girls - and plan to do the same for our next one. I did put a new boarder (simple simple sewing effort). I really just covered the silky part of the breathable bumper (it was sort of ugly and I just bought an extra sheet to make to make the little boarders). We also used sleeping bags - they have been brilliant - and the girls have stayed in them until they have been around 15 month. After that - both girls were totally crazy when we tried to put them in - so we gave up. Good luck! Alternatives to Crib Bumpers Good Questions |

We have just told our daughter (also 3) to keep her feet up. Some how she manages to do it when we land too - 8 hours off her time zone while she is still asleep sitting up on that thing. We will be buying another for her sister soon. It has been our lifesaver when we travel with two little girls and they check our buggy at the gate (which we never get back until we find it on baggage claim). I would say practice - like the above - also you might be able to hack the saddle in some way - maybe some stirrups? We have it and it is made of all cloth might be able to sew something right on to that. Ideas for Hacking the Trunki Good Questions |

Skubb boxes are the way to go - they have little ones that work great for tiny socks, and little hats, and then bigger thin ones that perfectly fit folded and little bottoms. Organizing Baby Clothes in a Dresser Good Questions |

A few years ago when we had our first daughter we purchased our bed from George Gold. He is a furniture designer in the UK. His bed is made of extra bits of wood from other projects. It is called the Alto Cot and Bed. We love it, it is a beautiful design, contemporary and classic at the same time. And amazing craftsmanship! So for those in the UK or I suppose willing to deal with the shipping an amazing option. Oops Crib from Structured Green |
