I have a soft-boiled egg almost every day and yet I don't really like eating from a cup. I simply peel the entire egg and place on top of toast. Over the years, I've tried all sorts of methods and I keep going back to my "naked" egg :)

If you don't need space to store cleaning supplies or a vacuum, I think it would make an excellent pantry.

I'm a freelancer who lives on a meager budget. I have several cheap and delicious recipes that I go to on a regular basis. Even though I live alone, I tend to buy ingredients for those recipes in bulk and make large batches to freeze for later. Not only does help save me money but it's also nice knowing I have pre-made meals ready to go. This also deters me from eating out.

One of the ways I make people feel welcome is just letting them know where everything is and to help themselves to whatever they need, whether it's a blanket or beer. I want them to feel free to open any cupboards, etc. And it works both ways...while staying at a friend's house, I noticed that I got up much earlier than she did so I made a pot of coffee with extra for when she was ready for it.

I have gone the decaffeinated route a few times because ultimately, I feel better than when I have coffee. I am back to having 2 cups in the morning, made at home and no more. If I'm out at a cafe, I order herbal tea. One of the things I realized was what I really missed about my coffee ritual...holding something warm! I started just pouring a hot cup of herbal tea or hot water and it helped! A strange association but that warm cup was part of the routine.

Because I'm self-employed and need to watch every penny, I cook most of my meals but I like to make a couple of bigger dishes over the weekend that I can snack on for the next week. It keeps me from spending money on food and I can just reheat and eat. I will be making curry chicken with cashews, a lamb stew and roast a big pan of vegetables.

I love the index cards idea - setting this up right now!

As for mail, I now keep a paper shopping bag right by the door and immediately dump all junk mail inside. At the end of the week, I dump it in the recycling bin in the garage. I also keep a box for donations under the coatrack and that goes to Goodwill as soon as it is filled.

You can still buy Surge in Norway as it was originally from Sweden. It reminds me of the fake product from How I met Your Mother, "Tantrum".

I miss the strawberry-flavored Magic Shell, which I suppose was taken off the shelf during the Red Die #2 scare.

Hmmm. I can see using a safe if you didn't have a reliable or fast internet connection but what is the hesitation around cloud back up?
For one, it is automatic, no matter where you are - I have a laptop that travels with me so knowing it's being backed up when I'm on the road is key - it's scalable, AND it also backs up my external drive at the same time.
And two, you can access your files from anywhere.
Safes are great but even the best home safe may not make it through a really intense fire and you need a place to permanently house them where you can also bolt them down, not and easy task to some people.
For the cost of your safe, I am able to utilize a cloud back up service for 8 years.

I only keep current files on my Mac and drop the rest on an external drive. I also back up the entire system, including the external, via a cloud service called Backblaze. For $50 a year, it is well worth it, given my computer now only houses my business but my personal life.

To your question, cyberval, yes, downtown Portland lofts in the Pearl do command that high of price. Also most lofts do not have a wall separating the bedroom area from the rest of the unit - that is a true loft, not a studio.

I treat adding a throw just as I would a new rug - it adds a fresh look to any room, and I don't think $100 is all that expensive for a piece that is also practical.

Seems your expectations are a tad high for a beta product. This holds true for many consumers who have lived without a particular function or program and then when it is released, they expect it to do more than it was designed to do. The future of utilizing Siri is limitless as development continues and she expands her capabilities within Apple apps and beyond. I predict in two years or less, we'll all be using Siri to do all sorts of things and forget about living in a world without her.

A carport in Oregon - land of rainy winters - is impractical. Also, given the prefab would be on a slab, there would be no place for storage other than the little shed provided.
