I LOVE that new little shed!

I'm less likely to spend a lot of dough on a dog bed for my pooch, than I am for an attractive kennel for her, which are much harder to find. I have a small place and the standard black wire cage is an eyesore. The fabric covers they sell look cheesy in my opinion since it still looks like a black wire cage draped in fabric--not the clean look I'm after. Bowhouse makes some cool modern dog crates by they only work for little dogs. If anyone knows of a company that makes attractive crates for medium sized dogs, please chirp up.

I have to say I'm not a big fan of modern commissioned portraits. I like vintage and antique ones, and I think they make for great decorating; but, there's something about a private individual (as opposed to an institution like a university, for example) commissioning a portrait of a living person or a pet. It's seems decadent and somewhat cheesy. For me, it's twice as bad as a posed photo portrait or vanity photo. Having said that, I've been following some of the links above and am blown away by the skill of these portrait artists. If I were to hang a modern painted portrait in my apartment, it would be of someone I don't know in order to evoke mystery as opposed to being a commemoration of someone I do know.
