Pretty much all tofu recipes call for a pound of tofu. Tofu comes in 14oz packages! Drives me up the wall!

I have the IKEA Hyllis, too. Definitely NOT nearly as sophisticated as what you're looking for. They're cheap and they're sturdy and they're silver colored. But they are not a substitute for what you pictured. CB2 used to carry a shelf called 'trig' that you might be able to find on ebay.

I think you're right. Those tiles are awesome, but they just don't do anything for your kitchen. Maybe if you did smaller glass tile in gray, white and maybe even pink? Like these:

it does already look nice! I would definitely echo the rug sentiment, I would also get a vintage credenza for your TV, maybe 1 large piece of art, and I would definitely get one of these tables:

So, I've been putting a google doc together of images that inspire me- and one thing has become very clear: I like shiny things.

Wow. Awesome idea.
If you take a crafty turn- turn the doors into a piece of art- so it's a large scale wall art when it's not in use as a table. You're going to cover the doors when they're being used as a table anyway, so there's not so much worry about the work getting damaged.
