What the WHAT?! This will make drinking my moonshine on the go much easier. J/K. Once it goes down in price and/or is available in stores, I would totally buy this for thin smoothies, coffee, juices, impromptu sippy cups, etc.

It's kinda odd; my spice cupboard is totally disorganized, mismatched containers of different size & make, baggies, tubs, little bottles for oils, etc. BUT, I know exactly where everything is. My delightful sister is always introducing me to new spices

Did anyone ever stop to consider that maybe some of us LIKE pepper?
I love black pepper...on eggs, on veggies, in gravy, etc. I don't switch to another spice because I'm not going for the flavor of another spice. I'm going for the comfortable heat & spice provided by the little grinds of black pepper.
Of course, there are exceptions; like using white pepper for lighter colored & more delicate dishes.
What's up with this anti-pepper crusade?

Hmmm, I just use a dry, then a damp, then a dry paper towel real quick. It's a George Foreman grill, not an operating table. :-)

I am overcome with want. Beautiful! I love it! I love their efficient use of space & light. I love the staircase. I love their dresser.
If I were photographing that house, I would have to resist the strong urge to invite the owner's to stand outside while i changed the locks :-)

It's kinda a dick move. Because it's good for Amazon's business doesn't make it any less of a dick move.
A friend of mine is a small business owner. She was hoping that this would actually drive people into her store; where she also hoped they would realize how wonderful her shop is, and how they're not all that more expensive than Amazon

I, too, came out with wine slush. What's the freezing wine trick?
I also freeze stock. And I make concentrated stock that I freeze in ice cubes

Um....I don't think that will have a significant impact on the product's life. Especially in comparison to it's current useable life. Honestly, when was the last time you threw away a tv because it malfunctioned. Compare that to the last time you "upgraded" to a new tv.
How much of what you own do you throw away from over use? (honest question)
The exception that comes to mind is furniture. That stuff is garbage. But their old stuff probably doesn't last much longer than the new, less resources, stuff. Should WalMart stop trying to conserve resources because people thing that extra stuff has extra value?

It really comes down to two things: Market Equilibrium and supporting (local, small, organic, family run, free range, cruelty free, heritage/heirloom, grows funky veggies) farms.
Prices take a little while to go down after a sudden spike in demand. More farms will find it profitable to get into the business, providing more competition, reducing the price.
Second, sure, you could spend $3/lb for a locally grown, organic, specialty potato; or $1/lb for a treated-with-chemicals-to-appear-fresh, trucked across the country, uses crazy amounts of resources, run of the mill potato at a supermarket. If those things don't matter to you, go to the super market. If you care more about sustainable farming & business practices, the environment, local economy, nicer potatoes, less chemicals, etc; the pony up a little extra. But you're really comparing apples to oranges when you compare a select farmer's market potato to a bargain basement supermarket one.
