Love. Is the dog a Wheaten/Poodle X (embarrassingly, they are called Whoodles)? Mine is and they look identical. We don't tell her she is a whoodle to her face though - she'd be mortified. Michael's Creatively Curated HomeHouse Tour |

As a landlord myself, I would much rather a tenant painted the walls than the refrigerator, as one commenter suggested. I'd be horrified if it had been sprayed red and then "just sprayed back to white again." Where to Start to Make New Place More Homey? Good Questions |

I always bring flowers. Sometimes just three pretty blooms with some salal and tied with raffia. I can get something that looks pretty and not over the top from the florist for under $15. If a more manly gift is in order, I'll bring a little potted cactus or succulent. If I am too poor for the florist, I'll just stop by Trader Joe's and stick the raffia on myself. If there is anything nice enough in my garden then I bring that. Do I Bring a Hostess Gift to a Potluck Thanksgiving Dinner? Good Questions |

Hmm, this is the issue about which my American husband and I (Canadian) had our very first major argument. I lost, and it took me a very long time to get used to the topsheet. I still wash our duvet cover just as often, because the (annoying!!!) topsheet inevitably ends up a twisted lump at the end of the bed, so in effect we ARE sleeping with just the duvet cover anyway. And when he goes away on business, I ditch it all together... Sleeping Style: Duvets vs. Top Sheets |

I didn't really collect things, but I wanted to. Maybe I was too sort of airy-fairy? My cousin, who I adored and emulated, collected paint chips, which she would then store beautifully in an album with photo-slide sleeves. I did have a sticker book, of course, and I saved all the postcards my granny used to send me. My sister and Mum were big collectors - the former of pretty boxes and the latter of willow pattern china, crinoline lady china, vintage handbags, shoes, chickens (real ones), pretty chocolate wrappers...almost anything. Oh I love this. It reminds me of time spent in the Muskokas in Ontario, at the cottages of childhood friends. Some of them were much fancier than this, and some of them were not, but that feeling of "away but still at home but better" is what I loved the most.
