Furniture Layout Ideas For Trapezoidal Room? Good Questions

I can see what you love about this place! That said, you're right, the carpet is bad. Any chance there's hardwood underneath (that your landlord would let you uncover)? Even if it's not in great condition it would look a million times better. If ripping up the carpet really isn't an option, I would suggest large neutral area rugs (jute rugs can be very affordable) with some bright patterned ones scattered throughout. I would check West Elm and Anthropologie for the patterned rugs, as they constantly have something on sale.

My boyfriend and I have been on a big smoothie kick - he's all about protein so I make his with 1/2 a banana, some almond butter, chocolate protein powder, chia seeds, and coconut water. I hate how artificial the protein powder tastes but he claims the other ingredients totally mask it.

Love the idea of a gallery wall, lots of us try it but you actually have the space to do it right! And there are certainly plenty of places in the city to buy great art. Maybe wait for the next First Friday and head into Old City (who doesn't like free cocktails while they shop?).

I prefer layout #2 (like others have suggested, try a smaller sectional). Also, I think if you went with a sectional that had a chaise lounge, rather than a full back it would really open up the space. Would a sectional with the chaise on the right side rather than the left work?

If you line the tin that should prevent rusting (I've planted small things in jam jars and just placed them in the tins, it's worked out pretty well)

Personally, I love the look of worn-in marble. I feel like the best kitchens look chic and used, and marble is the perfect material for this.

Lovely! Just because the "before" wasn't a complete disaster doesn't mean the owner didn't have the right to change it to suit her taste. Given the means I would have probably done the same thing.

Beautiful!

I have a general question regarding duvets (blankets, quilts, all of them): Am I the only person who has an issue with duvets not being long/wide enough for the bed they are being used on? Are you all using King linens on Queen beds? I love the look of a duvet covering the foot of a bed but can't seem to find any that are long enough for my King bed...

I do something very similar with ginger - I grate it and put it into a ziptop bag then press it flat before popping it into the freezer. That way when I go to use it I can just snap off exactly how much I want to use.

First, I'm very jealous. Maple syrup, and maple sugar candy are two of the greatest things on earth.

Second, I had a maple syrup based pretentious moment once! - I worked with a girl who was bragging about her mother making fresh maple syrup whenever she made pancakes and I truly was confused and asked "wait, doesn't it take a long time to boil maple sap down into syrup?" she looked at me like I was an idiot and said "no, all you have to do is mix maple flavor with corn syrup"....you have no idea how hard it was for me not to cringe at the thought of eating "maple" syrup.

What a beautiful use of space! I love the walls, and all of the items you chose to incorporate into the nursery. And I LOVE the shelves/changing table, where is that piece from?
