The Decor Divas's Profile

I would definitely paint the walls-- a color similar to the pumpkin shade on the pillow and lamp, maybe not so bright though. Also I would raise the draperies higher - to at least an inch away from the ceiling. Tall draperies are more dramatic. It's OK if your draperies puddle a litte on the floor, (1-3 inches), but they are definitely too long in present state. Addtionally, I would add some trim in one of the neutral tones to the draperies so they don't look so "off-the-shelf"... There are all sorts of ways you can add trim, such as along the vertical inside edge, or 1-2 rows a few inches from the top or bottom. Sewing it on is best, but you could hot glue it as well. Lastly I would add an artwork piece above the bed that features the neutral tones you already have going in the room. You could paint your own modern piece, or take a photo and have it printed on a canvas wrapped frame...
