My loveseat bark-o-lounger has the same issue, but it's not anyone's arms resting on them... no, it's the cat curling up on the headrest for a snooze.

Now that one side has that divot, he's taken to the other headrest instead.

Ah, didn't see LeahDC's comment about the crib placement, and can't see how to delete my prior post. Thanks for clarifying!

mschatelaine, those were my exact thoughts.

The mirror (or the crib) will need to be moved so that as the baby begins to pull up on things, s/he won't pull up on the mirror and bring it down.

I'm not sure if this is necessarily a "Japanese" method of making coffee. I've seen it done primarily at Vietnamese places, where the ice cubes are often sitting in a lovely bit of condensed milk, for a great sweet/milky flavor.

I bought a low platform bed for my spare room and was mulling over various headboard options.

End result? Two large brocade-covered dog beds for around $35 from Tuesday Morning. It tickles me pink to see them in the room because they are comfy, gorgeous, the covers come off (although, oddly for a dog bed, they are not machine washable), and they are in scale with the bed upon which they perch.

These were built into lots of homes in the 80s and 90s to serve as a "home office" desk. It's probably too low of a surface on which to fold laundry while standing.

I agree with the commenters who suggest adding shelves and perhaps doors. Perhaps you can turn it into a wine storage area.

Hehehe, I was just going to say the same thing as Alie J. You don't want the toothbrushes over the toilet. :)

Also, what if you accidentally knock over the container? Everything falls into the toilet, or hits the ground around it and needs to be replaced.

Other than that, I love the new color. My current bath is the same original darker green, so it's interesting to see it lightened up this way. I was thinking of going over my bathroom with a lighter glaze.

I often wonder about the wisdom of having sunlight streaming into a closet. Fabrics will fade quickly when exposed to daily doses of bright light.

On the other hand, I'm planning to convert my small third bedroom into a large "walk-in" closet, so I love the inspiration!

Probably the first before-and-after where I literally dropped my jaw! Such a difference, and for so little money, it's a big change for the better.

I love the little stone houses. They're so cute, and really give a sense of history to the area.

That said, I'd be really uncomfortable with my actual address being shown, no matter how artistically.

Is this a rental unit, and you can't change things substantially? Or is this your place, but you aren't going to replace the countertops soon?

She can't put up bars or change the door; it's a rental unit.

If you don't have a pet that would trigger the motion sensor alarm, you could go with that. The alarm company stickers are also a good idea.

Make sure your windows actually lock and that your curtains/blinds are effective at keeping someone from peering in at you. Maybe your landlord would allow you to put up temporary frosted window cling.
