I love this shop. It is beautifully edited and I couldn't be happier that it's in Takoma Park. But it's not a spot for bargains. A cabinet that was about $850 there would be closer to $500 in Frederick at one of the barn sales. But the pieces are sturdy and you don't have to drive to Frederick. I really hope this shop succeeds. It's a great place for gifts.

My parents had a great Danish mid-century coffee table that I largely scorned growing up because it was "old." Then when I got my first apartment I asked if I could have their icky old coffee table to... wait for it... paint it! So yes, in my infinite wisdom as an early 20-something in 1998 I painted this piece seafoam green, yellow and pink.

Forgive me apartmenttherapy, for I have sinned.

Nice job!

For the record, could the recycling Nazis please just assume that people do what they can to recycle during a renovation and not crud up every comments section with their tsk tsking? It's getting tiresome.

The rooms are all beautiful but it's worth noting that with the exception of the last pic, they also all appear to be huge rooms. A small rugless space is often just unfinished and loud. :-(

Love the place. Where's the black leather chair in the living room from? Desperately trying to find something similar for our place. Thanks!

Would love to know what the cabinet color is in the Iris kitchen (No. 5).

Shelby mentions the challenge of keeping the counters clean and I'm wondering if that's just in general, or specific to the concrete. We're about to embark on a kitchen remodel and I'm mulling concrete but I've got a toddler and a messy hubby.

Ada,
Fellow D.C. resident here and you make our town very proud with that style! Quick question: we just purchased an oversized photo piece from an artist whose work we just discovered but we're at a loss on how to best frame it without using a blah white or black flame and glass. Can you share your source for handling the one that appears in your living room? Thanks!
