Hey, I checked Martha Stewart and she is not offering a preference -- only repeating the survey that Cottonelle took, that shows 70% prefer the waterfall. How To: Hang Your Toilet Paper Correctly? |

Yes, like Mrs. T, I thought the way hotels do it must be the right way. But since no one seems to know why one over the other (except cat owners) is best, I think I'll do "whatever" from now on. Oh, the freedom I feel! I wonder what Martha thinks? How To: Hang Your Toilet Paper Correctly? |

Alan has made some incredibly lush and elegant design choices. I love the layout of the house. But the wall panel brought back painful memories of the ugly tract house I grew up in with its one-of-a-kind reddish plywood-paneled walls. My Dad thought they were great because we never had to paint or paper them. My Mom grinned and bore them. Seeing Alan's OBS walls brought back the shame of living in that ugly house. I wish he had been our designer: the place could have been a showpiece. Alan's Colorful, Daring & Dramatic East Austin Home House Tour |

I had the joy of resting on a hammock like this that was stretched between the two pontoons of a small charter boat in Hawaii. It was so wonderful. I can absolutely see the value of having this sweet comfort in an unused space. What Do You Think? An Extreme Home Hammock |

Elizabeth Bold's kitchen is such a wonderful, compact place. It's the only one of the four that seemed the perfect size. And I am a big fan of Euro rustic, cream and blue, so I just had to choose it. Brava! Small Cool Kitchens 2011: The Finalists! |

I always thought you had to hide everyday things to be chic, elegant. Oh my, Mike, you tell a different story. I would love you to come to my house and stage it for me. I could have more beautiful things than I can imagine. Lovely home. Mike's Roscoe Village Expansion House Tour |

The mark of a true artist is one who can make something unique, compelling and beautiful -- something sought after because it resonates with the receiver, whether or not they know why. While I wondered about the name of the object, I didn't need to know exactly what you used to be affected by their utility and beauty. When I discovered the cancer connection, I was only more inspired -- and impressed Thank you , Peter. Bottles of Hope by Peter Sid Design Showcase 2010 Finalist |

The quandry table is something you can just look at FOREVER. It is elegant, natural, and a conundrum that just makes you want to stare and stare. I owned one other item that had that kind of staying power: a poster of a Greek monastery built on top of a seemingly inaccessible mountain. One look and you could not look away until you had satisfied your racing mind. Thank you, John, for creating the kind of functional art that is truly "endlessly fascinating." We started our married life on a cheap mattress ($300) and graduated to a soft-side waveless waterbed when we bought our house 3 years later. We kept that mattress for about 25 years, then thought it was time to buy a "real bed." We got the Select Comfort with dual controls and used it for about 10 years. But alas, it sprung a leak and we moved to the Sealy's version of the Temperapedic. I can honestly say, nothing compares to that waterbed, which welcomed you by lightly heating your sheets and cuddled you in pressure-less comfort. I never woke up sore or creaky until we got rid of the waterbed. What were we thinking? What Is the Right Price for a Bed? A Year in Bed |
