There's a painting in picture #9 on the far left of a woman with very large eyes, done in a gestural style. I have a nearly identical painting and was curious if you (or anyone) could elaborate on who the painter was- any info on this would be helpful!

I love terrariums AND I love Portlandia! I don't find them gross in the slightest. I understand there's a creepy element, they're a bit rooted in the whole apothecary chapter (which I personally enjoy) but at the end of the day they're just contained house plants!

I am a neat freak! A serious cleaner and organizer... every drawer, cupboard and cabinet is arranged, every shelf is dusted, every faucet and handle is polished. But I do think it's important to sometimes draw line in what areas need to be cleaned. The tops of the cupboards in our apartment are about 8 ft... since I'm 5'2" and none of our guests are Gheorghe Mureşan (7'7" basketball player) I don't feel this area needs to make it into my cleaning rotation. Wax Paper lining the tops to me doesn't actually make things cleaner anyway... it's sort of just a cupboard diaper isn't it?

This doesn't appeal to me... It reminds me of the decor found in an American owned Greek Restaurant in a strip mall.

I would like to know what kind of paint was used to do this job- I am hoping to do something similar with different coloured paints.

Mindy PDX- I have four chairs in a similar state and we tried wet sanding and penetrol without any luck. "Saved" is a bit of subjective term in this case because obviously the owner of the chair was looking for a different form of redemption than yourself.

Nice work on being brave and up-cycling something that makes you happy!

This is a cute post! My friends and I just played the "Who am I?". I was Mr. Clean! This game is fun all year long. Another similar game is to take popular song names, put them in a hat and make your friends Hum them until people can guess what it is.
