@Liminality and @BelindaH

I've been using the 3M Command stick-on hanging hooks for years - fantastic. Always rearranging my artwall. Following the instructions, don't skip the part about preparing the wall, and definitely remove slowly. They are cheaper at Bunnings and you can reuse the hooks - just need to get new tape.

Cheers from Wollongong

Acting like a drill sergeant I gave my place a thorough going over - omg, there's still some Christmas decorations hanging around! Some items can go on long-term list but not this one :)

adding to comment by @JPPEDI - perhaps include a photo of a typical Taipei home/kitchen to get a better comparision of the design effort put in by the homeowner. I've lived in Asia and know how small living spaces can be.

I very much like the kitchen/dining area - great use of a small space.

The comments were more interesting to read. I agree that I'd rather hear from the experience of someone who maintains tidiness in a messy home on a regular basis (including the failures) than an affirmed tidy-freak or minimalist. I got the best everyday tips from the readers than the post.

1. hang the coat-hangers backward.
2. sticky notes.
3. can how I reuse/upcycle - my old bookcase is now in the wardrobe to give extra shelving.

I've listened to a great radio interview with Corinne Grant, who is an Australian Comedian and TV panelist. The link is http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2010/10/18/3041212.htm

intriguing.....ok if the price is right and you want to experiment. Reminds me of early 20th century gangster and molls. I wouldn't reupholster ($$$$ and it would change the personality)
above all else follow the rule...when in doubt do without.

Oz has a lot of space, less population per area (total pop is 22 million), big distances between towns, etc. WARNING (generalisation) - we LOVE space and room to move.

I lived in the US in 2007 and was amazed at the range of products, designs and lower prices than we have here. US has way more people than us so lots more to choose from - I'm so envious. How can I get another visa? :)

Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi - great job. love the expanse of polished concrete.

re the security screens - I'd rather have air flow at night in our summers, security while sleeping and an insect free home regardless of the look. I rarely notice it.

re the arch - ugh - I'd rather have light and space. We have beautiful light here.

I LOVE the glass collection.
