OMG! This is too funny. One guy appaerently divorced his wife after regretsy posted a picture of him wearing his wife's "creation" But I think it worked out, because she didn't seem too bummed about it. I wish I had the link for it. Regretsy is my guilty pleasure.

lol this is me! It's completely awful. I feel your pain. My dog got painted too (palladian blue butt ha!)

P.S. still no motivation to complete it. I probably would've finished if I had someone doing it with me. I've learned my lesson to never paint again.

I used pages from magazines last time I moved. Somehow I always end up with a pretty large pile before I purge.

A couple months before I need to move I'll start saving them again. You'll be surprised by how big of a pile you'll get once you start crumpling all the pages up.

Love all things chevron! Dunno if it's a recent trend though. Just seems like all the other blogs are finally catching on.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect chevron fabric for over a year! (want thicker lines) I'm afraid blogs will kill it for me before I am able to find it. So hard to find thing before they are too trendy.

I think you should but don't use sharkey gray on your ceiling. I painted my apartment walls and ceiling a light gray once and it felt really gloomy. I decided to paint the ceiling white and it made a huge difference! All Martha Stewart paint chips have suggestions for coordinating ceiling and trim colors on the back. Maybe try checking out which one she recommends

I was also going to mention costco as well. Just make sure that you're only trying to do home videos. They won't do any thing that isn't your own. Found that out when I had to take my bosses videos in.

Love my magic erasers! I tried them on my walls and I've been hooked ever since. I also use without gloves too and I haven't had problems. I think the kitchen magic eraser has a cleanser in it. That one foams when I use it.

Does anyone know if it works on blood? I had a crazy dog fight a couple of months ago and one got nipped on her ear and she decided to decorate my wall. Gross! I'm a little nervous about trying it with blood. I know sometimes things will make blood stains worse. Also I don't want to repaint. I literally painted stripes on that wall 2 weeks before it happened.

I worked for a family that had one of those fountains and my dog loved drinking from that thing. Everytime I brought him over he would only drink from it. Just make sure that you keep water in it when it's plugged in. We forgot to refill it and the motor burned out. I'm pretty sure it didn't help that my dog emptied out the fountain every time I came over.

I love chevron stripes! I'm just waiting for an affordable fabric to be available so I can make some curtains.

Wow! I have the same mat too! I was contemplating painting it, but I wasn't sure it could be done. I'm definitely going to have to try this soon. I also have 2 dogs and I'm glad to hear that it helps with the hair situation. My mat is a dog hair magnet. eek! Thanks!

Also I thought I'd just mention that I've seen more modern looking "comfort mats" on worldmarket.com I would've gotten one from there but I had already bought my target one.

I use to make them until Starbucks started selling them. They seemed a lot more special before. Not to mention the fact that everyone asks if I bought them at Starbucks even though the ones I make look nothing like the ones at Starbucks.

The Starbucks ones aren't very good either. You do have to try out different flavors to get a good combination though. White cake + white frosting + white candy melts = Too sweet and sugary tasting. Gross! Usually trading out with chocolate or peanut butter seems to help.

Oh man... I love these! My mom use to buy these for me whenever we went to Vancouver but I could never remember what it was called. I can't wait to buy the pan and start trying out recipes. Thank you!

Cast iron skillets make the best pancakes! So fluffy. They're a little hard to clean when you first get them. But I think that was just user error. I have a 12 inch lodge skillet but I am thinking about switching to a 10 inch skillet. The 12 inch is too heavy and I don't have enough room for something so big.

Thanks for the post! I have a lot of extra paint and samples sitting around my apartment from painting. I'm really excited that there is a place in my area that will recycle my old paint.

Delta Creative makes a product called Soy Paints. It's low to no VOC and they also have stains.

There's a review of it here:
http://www.craftcritique.com/2011/02/cha-paints-delta-creative.html

Looks fairly new since it was reviewed on Feb. 8th and I haven't seen it craft stores yet. I think I want to try out the stains. Hope this helps.

I think this is a great idea. I like how it seems more like a wall and not like a bookcase sitting in the middle of the room. Also I'm not positive but I don't think you need to worry about it toppling over. If that bookcase is one piece it might lean over a little bit before hitting the ceiling but it wouldn't fall over. It would have to tear up the ceiling in order to fall over. I think I would be more worried about heavy things flying off the shelves during an earthquake. The only thing I'm wondering is how would you bring it in through the door?

Just curious if any of the people who have left negative comments live in a studio or loft and also have kids? I think the whole idea of this post is give inspiration to people who live in open spaces and don't have the luxury of walling off certain areas.

Vinegar won't affect the color of cloth. In fact it helps set color and keeps it from fading so fast. I use to soak new swimsuits in a vinegar bath for 30 mins to keep color from fading in those old lycra swim swimsuits (back in my swim team days) I also use it when I first wash something I just dyed to keep the color in.

Just curious does anyone know how to get mold out of suede shoes? My last apartment had a serious mold problem which happened to be in my closet! I had to throw out a lot of things and some expensive shoes which really sucked. But I do have a couple pair that I just can't part with. Also the mold wasn't actually on the suede it was the sole of the shoe, but I'm a little concerned about mold spores in the actual suede. Is there a way to make it mold free? BTW the laying out in the sun is not an option. I live in Seattle and I have no balcony.

The only problem with the 14” clothes hanger is that the rail goes front to back vs. side to side. So you would only see what is hanging in the front. I know it slides out but you’re only getting 13” (the ikea website lists it at that but I believe the rail didn’t go that far back when I saw it on store) of hanging space. If you have a lot of things you need to hang I would get the deeper one instead. With the smallest wardrobe you would still get 19” of hanging space and you can see everything at once since the rail goes side to side. I would also recommend getting drawers to at least eye level for the deeper one. I did that for my 19” pax and everything has stayed nicely folded. The 22” pax are huge but you can put twice as much stuff in there so you might be able to save some wall space. Maybe tape off on the floor where the furniture would be so you can see if you can get around it comfortably. There’s no point in getting the bigger one if you feel like it’s too crowded. If space is an issue get the 14” for folded things and a garment rack for hanging stuff. I made due with a double rod garment rack until I saved up for my pax. It held just as much as my pax and added a lot of color to my room.
