We've had our Kitchen Aid for about 5 years, and use it once or twice a month. I've had to replace gears for the front attachment twice already, and am concerned that the noise coming from it is an indicator that new gears are in my future again. They aren't that expensive (<$20) but it's a real mess to take apart and rebuild, and it requires an expensive can of grease.

I'm really disappointed that on average we get maybe 15 - 20 uses out of the front attachments before needing to replace the gear set, and it's severely limited the amount of times we use the grinder and pasta attachments, and my desire to buy any more attachments.

My wife now uses Whole Foods 365 as her main choice, but we were a Hellman's family since I was a kid. We live in SC, and just don't care for Dukes.

Been married for 20+ years and we have used separate flat sheets and separate blankets for years. My wife prefers to sleep with a blanket, while I only use a flat sheet unless absolutely necessary.

We buy most meats in bulk. For short term freezing (14 days or less) we just use a Rubbermaid bowl sized as close to the portion as possible (to keep air to a minimum).

For longer term storage, we use a vacuum sealer.

Ours is one of the items that has earned a permanent location on the counter.

We buy lots of bulk items and use it to portion them into serving sizes for portion control when serving meals, and for adjusting recipes up and down by percentages.

We use a large cast iron griddle (the lodge one that covers two burners) weekly, along with a round 12" griddle, and a 12" cast iron skillet a couple of times a month.

We use an enameled dutch oven a couple of times a month as well.

The stove was here when we bought the house 7.5 years ago, and while it has gotten scratched a bit (I think from the wok mostly), it has held up well.
