Ginger Beer for life!!!

I grew up in Australia where nothing was more satisfying on unbearably hot summer days than the stubby little bottles of Bundaberg Ginger Beer. Seriously. Sometimes at the markets you could find freshly brewed stuff and it was even better. When I moved to Canada I was very sad to find that a lot of people didn't even know what Ginger Beer was, it's damn near impossible to find. I am always reminded of reading Enid Blyton's Famous Five, their adventures and beach picnics with "boiled eggs, pickles and lashings of ginger beer".

Oh and also... I believe you're not supposed to let bits of the batter run down the sides while you're filling it, so make sure you fill from the centre and let it spread out... If that makes sense?

The other alternative is to put an oven pan in the oven while it's preheating and then put the soufflé dishes on top of that while they're baking, so that they still get that bottom heat.

I counted calories oh for about... a month. I found it terribly frustrating and even time consuming. So I took the "eat real food" approach and have recently cut out processes sugar. It's made all the difference. I know it can be difficult to always cook meals with busy life styles, but I freeze my own pasta sauces and the like et voila! Nutritious meal!

Goodness! Such negativity!
Here's the thing, I have a pair of such jeans, and yes I paid a little bit more for them than the jeans at the gap but as a result I a) supported a small American business, b) bought a top quality product, c) most likely won't buy jeans again for a couple of years, so in the long run I've paid as much as those of you who buy them every 6 months! Though, how much people spend on their clothes is actually irrelevant. It fascinates me that someone's choice of clothing rendered such intense negativity on a blog where we like to read about new design trends, and where we appreciate well made things and clever tips. I personally love beautiful apartments and beautiful clothes. No, it wasn't the best video (there are better guides to freezing your jeans around the net) but I think Maxwell is really getting a rough time for this one. Relax!

I had the pleasure of sleeping on futons in Tatami rooms and it was without doubt the most comfortable and restful sleep I've ever had. It did help to wake up to a killer view but regardless. I don't think I'll ever forget that.

I've tried this method but with honey or juice. Tried the old cling wrap method and everything but we just have SO MANY that I'm completely at a loss. It makes me want to cry on a daily basis!

I mean, just the whole place. I'd kill for views like that... Cities, they're such a love hate relationship.

"Come see us!" Haha, when you're in your underwear, eating cereal? That very much amused me, but seriously. How epic is your place? Luckiest kids IN THE WORLD. Just goes to show you don't need the best city neighbourhoods and expensive schools etc etc, just a creative and loving family. + 100 points!

Someone pointed out before that people need not be so snarky and that perhaps the owner can only afford the storage cube. This is fair enough but don't those things come in all shapes/sizes/colours? Could the owner not have tried to find a more suitable one. Or if they don't, should a design site not feature a more jazzed up cube?
I actually don't take issue with the owner so much, but more with AT. Tidy apartments make all the difference, sure.. but honestly, that's preaching to the choir. I'm getting very tired of seeing posts that feel like a game of "Spot the difference" I honestly had to look twice.

I have string lights (they're called fairy lights in Australia). I have these
http://flowerglow.com/leaf-string-fairy-lights.html
and they're actually made from an organic leaf material that's all closed up. When you get the lights you're supposed to spray them with water (crazy I know, but it's safe) to open them up, let them dry and voila. I've strung up mine in the brackets holding up shelves attached to the wall. As I don't have a bedhead they're a perfect replacement. Absolute love.

I don't like the built in blender... What if you need that bench top space for something? Things should not be nailed down to bench tops.

I know you need to have a good idea of how long something should take to cook but I really dislike being given a precise time "simmer for 20 minutes" or "bake for 30 on blah" The amount of times I've messed up recipes by following that religiously even though intuitively I'm thinking "that doesn't sound right" Just tell me what it should look like/taste like in the end and I'll work it out for myself. Or say "Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown"... or tell me to stick something in it to check if cooked or ANYTHING. This is especially true of recipes involving an oven, I think mine's a bit stronger than the usual... the amount of times my gooey brownies have turned into hard crumbly things because I thought "recipe knows better than me".
