I am a chef, have 3 cats and I am pregnant. My kitties are indoor cats and one of them HAS to eat his dinner on the counter because otherwise the youngest will scarf down his food too. I am sooooo tired of hearing other people's judgments about having cats while you are pregnant. If you do not have contact with the litter box and keep everything clean you and the baby will be fine! I took my cats into my home to be my companions forever and I cannot imagine giving them up because of other people's misplaced fears. I have 3 kitties, one of which is extremely finicky and will absolutely not use the litter box if it has been used by another cat, so I periodically find messes on my old oak floor. I also would recommend using Nature's Miracle! They offer a version specifically made for cats that so far has worked for me. I haven't noticed any discolorations or warping in my floor as of yet. I love love love that Stephanie won! However, I felt that the episode was almost anti-climatic, as compared with last season's finale which was live and full of confetti and completely overdone. She is the first female Top Chef!! The producers should have seen this coming and not just glazed over it; I almost didn't realize that she actually won. I love the idea of the clever cat box, but my cats are so finicky about their box (location, litter, etc) that I wouldn't want to risk changing it again. But I did just buy a "cat screen" and so far I love it because it's not too big and it hides the box pretty well.
