Bom dia ! I just returned from a month in Portugal. Sounds like you love it as much as I do! Have you make it down to Sagres? If the beauty of the coastline is what you are into, you'd love it. There are stunning cliffs with fisherman perched precariously on the edges, people surfing on sandy beaches, pounding waves - it was definitely my favourite spot. I live in Vancouver...and the construction here is endless, especially with the Olympics coming. With the building boom, workers aren't trained as well as they should be. I scored a vintage Saarinen look-alike from Craigslist for $40, and then found some Eames shell chairs in white off of ebay (6 for $22, without bases). With the Eiffel bases, I think they look great with the Saarinenesque table. I poop like a pigeon...I don't even have time to read the title. It's just a fly by. Even if I wasn't a champion turbo-pooper, there is no way that I'd even pick up a book or magazine in a bathroom. I'll agree with the "Keep Calm" posters. I walked into a new restaurant here in Vancouver last weekend called "The Cascade" (with it's 50's starburst style logo). While the space is really cool and the atmosphere is great, I couldn't help but be annoyed by a giant floor to ceiling vinyl of the "Keep Calm, and Carry On" graphic plastered onto a glass divider in the entry. They even had a reproduction of the graphic on the 1st page of the menus. I wonder how long it'll be before the owners realize their mistake and peel it down? I disagree however, with the wall mounted TVs over the fireplace. I live in a tiny apartment that was built in the 1940s and there was really nowhere else to put it. A bulky CRT would look even more out of place in here. Granted, my fireplace has been bricked in and is now just an empty hole with great moulding.
