I've been scammed. It was years ago but it was a horrible feeling and it's not something that I discuss with anyone because, quite frankly, it's embarrassing! It makes you react differently to people and I am wary of everything and everyone now. Scammers are SCUM!

Gorgeous makeover, so fresh! I'm not sure why people think that it's acceptable to leave unnecessarily horrible comments on AT. Most are far from constructive and I hope that they wouldn't say that to someone's face if they were invited over to see the makeover personally. Okay, now I'll get off my pedestal. I think that this space will definitely look better once it's been a bit more 'lived in.' A few books will add character in the shelf and I'd love to see that basket filled with crap (ummm... just to make me feel a little better about my basket filled with crap!). LOVE the desk, chair, phone and vase of flowers and the space looks practical to me. Anything that's not aesthetically pleasing is probably stashed away in your newly painted cupboards. :)

LOVE the table. It has a very French provincial look. I'd like to see different chairs with this though... but that's just a personal choice rather than design criticism. :)

So much to look at, so much to love. I'm also not a fan of matchy, matchy and I also love items with a story..... even if I'm not sure of what it is. This home is beautiful without feeling too precious. Google-ing Michael Crispen now. :)

I prefer buffet. I set a beautiful table and I also set up a beautiful food area. I admit that we have a lot of space now but found that in our first teeny tiny home; it was easier there too. I think that it's really down to personal taste though because even our wedding was cocktail style so I'm obviously not a big fan of formality. I think you should do whatever is easier for you to do. :)

Pros & Cons: Sit Down Dinner vs. Buffet?

Dishes in the oven is soooo unappealing...... I have a glass oven door! I try to ensure that my house is never messy enough to be embarrassed by it and if my 'friends' are judging me by the state of my house then they're a little bit pathetic in my opinion. I love the basket idea.... I stash it in our walk in robe. It's mainly the kids mess: toys, clothing (why my girls feel the need to strip off 10 times a day is beyond my understanding, lol) and pencils.......

5 Tips to Make Your House Appear Cleaner Than It Is

I lived with $5 garage sale outdoor chairs as indoor dining chairs for a year. I was waiting for the my ideal chairs to pop up at a second hand store/ eBay or similar. The cheapest that I could find them were at $500 each unpainted. Finally I gave in and bought leather chairs that my hubby and I agreed on. Then, a few months later...... FOUR matching chairs come up on eBay. Last that I looked the package was still under $500 for the lot.... We'd spent too much on the ones we have so we just couldn't justify it.... :( However, I have had success other times. My favourite was a painting that my Mum was given for her 21st. I have wanted it since.... birth! :) I decorated my home to perfectly suit the artwork and was able to convince Mum that it would be perfect in our home; and it is. Yes, perseverance pays off.

My motto on cleaning? Just DO IT! I am NOT a clean 'freak' but I cannot relax if there is crap everywhere. Only one of my daughters is not at school and I am only working part time so it's not really a time issue so much as it's a procrastination issue. lol! If I just get it out of the way, I can concentrate on more important things and more FUN things. As for a cleaner.... I'd prefer to splurge on fashion. (-ask me again when I'm back at work full time. lol!)

It really doesn't look like the same cabinet..... assuming that it is: there's more work done here than just slapping on different legs and doors. The bottom has been completely changed.

I love this colour combo. I have green as the unifying colour through my home. Plus teal in my bedroom and ensuite, orange and red in my main area (open plan: kitchen, dining, lounge, theatre) ... my grey walls go with it all. I admire homes with bright colours on the walls but I guess I'm just a bit 'safe'. lol! ............ LOVE the pot plant. :)

All you need is a wide sweeper and an extend-able duster (for cobwebs) : it doesn't look high maintenance to me at all. .... I have concrete floors and am surprised by how wonderful they are to live with. This is a very cool space! I love the raw elements. All your hard work has paid off. :)

Not accumulating stuff that you don't need is important whatever the size of your house. It just creates more work. There are so many elements in the bottom pic (Kens mixed media dream home) that I love. The table is so clever and I adore the tall slim floral artwork in the background.............. clicking on the link now. Thanks. :)
