I find it very telling when people want you to believe that "true art only comes from artists with formal art backgrounds/educations". More often than not, these are the very same people who want to justify their expensive art school education, and no doubt learned what constitutes real art from their teachers (who also went to expensive art schools). Hmm.

I seem to recall it was around $200 to have the oven painted, but that included having the paint custom mixed to match our Kitchenaid mixer. They said it would be less if we went with a color they had left over from painting a car. I hope that helps :-)

As for the brick wall; I'm on the fence about hanging a clock, some kind of wall art or a hood vent over the stove.

One of my neighbors has 4 kids and they are doing something similar but with books! Their youngest just turned 8 and was regaling me with the sad life of Heathcliff, having just finished Wuthering Heights!

In our guestroom we have a couple of empty drawers and a section of closet with empty hangers at the ready. Most guests don't bring more than that, but this way they don't feel like there's no room for them. I do realize that not everyone has this luxury, but I'm never comfortable staying where I have to remember not to trip over my suitcase in the middle of the night (because the only place for it is on the floor around the bed).

a) Cozification should definitely be a word.
b) The 'after' looks like a tree house for grown-ups!

We assembled and installed IKEA cabinets in our kitchen 3 years ago and have no complaints whatsoever. They also came with a 25 yr guarantee (if that helps put your mind at ease).

I think I might like the 'after' better if I had never seen the 'before'. They're both lovely in their own ways (and I really drooled over the pool), but it just seemed so romantic and fairy-friendly before.

I almost didn't click on the link because I figured it was going to be a "clean up, paint blue and maybe add some new hardware" kind of transformation. Instead it's something totally different and totally.... awesome!!!

I wont go into what our landscaping cost, but it looks to me like this client got an amazing yard for the price! That's a of of work...
