Curbside stuff..
I look to see if it has been taken care of and look at where it came from. If the house/apt looks clean and the item looks in good shape I'll take it. Otherwise why risk a free chair if you end up paying $1000+ to get rid of bedbugs

by the year 2013 there will be 1000 bed bugs per person in metro areas.

I would add some mirrors to enlarge the space a bit, white drapes on the windows perhaps. That color is great but dark so add as much white as you can so it doesnt seem dismal at night.

And maybe some plants..because plants make everything nice

I think whats not doing it for me is the handles. I would have preferred the same handles but in that same color to what you have now, but it's also not my dresser so whatevs. But that is one fantastic paint job! I usually see the trim pieces mucked up with drips. Nice job!

UGHH there is something just gorgeous about various color glasses stacked. Makes me want to blow a ton of money on cups and bowls I would never do anything with, except look at.

Often times when I've had issues with thin primer/paint, it's usually just the problem of crappy paint. Not to plug products here but I only use BJ Moore paint and after 3 coats and no primer you can't see anything but underneath. For super saturated colors you're better to prime with a white paint, if you use anything else it will make the color look muddy and desaturated. Just my 2 cents.

That counter top mess is definitely a quick fix/scuzzy landlord remedy. I would be tempted to use it on small tables or other small project, but for counters, it makes more sense just to save the money and buy a different one that will last longer than a coat of paint. Cheap short term fixes are never worth the longterm aggravation.

If its some kind of thrifty piece and not very valuable you could do something more edgy like painting it with chrome paint to look like this

I did that with a wooden table I got and it looks amazing...but only if thats your taste, otherwise a dark stain would look awesome
