It's my house, i'll hang my TV where I want to hang it. Unfortunately the "design experts" don't take into account that many people simply have to work with the space they have and many times there is simply no other place to put the TV. In our house there are windows on both sides of the fire place, the other remaining walls include a window and front entrance door, a closet door on the opposite wall, and the remaining wall is the only place to set a sofa. Blocking the windows was NOT an option and would be more offensive to the room layout.

I've had it on a low stand in the corner, which while eye level, resulted in a horrible viewing angle with relation to the sofa. You could never just sit and view the TV head on, and it also occupied the space available for a 3rd seating area. Finally after three years I caved and hung it over the fire place. We couldn't be happier!

1. I was able to center it and angle it for optimal viewing. I don't know about most people, but when i'm on the couch, watching TV, I prefer to be in a lounging position. Leaned back & feet up relaxed. The head naturally tilts back in this position, so there's no neck strain at all. Not sure how other people watch TV.....sitting straight up with perfect posture?? yeah...good luck with enjoying Game of Thrones like that..

2. I was able to place my 7.1 surround speakers PROPERLY with equal distance on both sides of the TV and a center channel that is actually in the center.

3. I was able to hide the cords.

4. I like it. It works for us. And everyone should do what works for them instead of caving to some "design professional's" idea of what is a proper aesthetic for the living room.

Hmm...nice.
Solution to having the image flipped would be to flip it in Photoshop first, then print it out flipped...so when you transfer it, it will be facing the right way.
Gonna have to try this!
Does it work with color photos?

This would be much better if it measured contaminates, particulates, and other things floating around in the air that actually concern folks. Any idea if they intend to enhance the capabilities further?

BTW...ditto to everyone taking issue with people who had poor installations. My installer was very thorough. Install included new, larger diameter supply lines to all of the fixtures in the house (just a bathtub, sink, kitchen sink, and dishwasher), proper placement in the basement so that the run to these fixtures was short as possible, AND a new larger capacity gas meter. The BONUS was that the new gas meter was installed by the Natural Gas Company...for FREE. It was part of the plumbing code or something....since the meter is technically owned by the gas company, they have to be sure to have a meter that meets the requirements of the home.

I suspect a lot of people with issues, simply didn't have their units installed by a competent person. They probably comparison shopped based on lowest price rather than most qualified.

The units are great.

Any reason you chose the iBooks store over the Nook store? Better book selection, formatting, pricing, ???

I'm an Android & iPad & Kindle household. I've stuck with the Kindle store for compatibility reasons. I like that it works on pretty much any digital device out there. I never got cozy with the iBooks.

@SEVENTEN the pot rack is actually a wall mounted pot rack. We have two of them side by side. The Container Store carries them.

@KSTEW No clue who makes that chair. We got ours from a random guy on craigslist. I couldn't find a label on it anywhere. But it's very well made for sure!

WOW! What a great surprise to wake up to! Didn't think we'd made the cut. Thanks for the compliments everyone! I think we still have all the paint names at home, i'll have to dig them up. @Little Lulu: The coffee table was an antique store find. @JENPDX: you're right, we were on the verge of doing something drastic to the cabinets; we're glad we painted the rooms first, it made a huge difference for us. @OMORIALA: The closets are still tiny and dark, so it was kinda hard to get a good shot of them lol.
The front door was a chore! Took me almost a year to strip it down to bare wood and repaint it. 80+ years of paint.
