I freeze it in plastic containers - good old icecream containers (plastic) or take-away containers (uk) but you can buy all sorts of sizes and shapes of tupperware etc. I wouldn't use glass in the freezer. Help! Why Do My Jars of Frozen Chicken Stock Keep Breaking? Good Questions |

We are currently buying a similar house in Oxford (sadly without a barn!). When I saw this I loved it and showed it to my husband. We both sighed - if only our house was going to be so big. When you said you'd recently sold I had a look on Rightmove and saw that the floorplan is almost identical!! It gives us hope! You have also persuaded us to paint the kitchen units and make do, rather than rip out and start again. I have made careful note of the colours. A lovely house, thanks for the inspiration. Good luck in your new home. Anna & Ed's Modern & Historic Home House Tour |

We had IKEA Nexus units put in 12 years ago and they have held up very well. Only one hinge went - and that was because my children kept swinging on that door! (and we were able to fix it ourselves) and the kickborad has become scruffy. We had very good installers who we hired ourselves. We have had carpenters in to do other work who have said that IKEA do the best flatpack kitchens (in the UK) in their opinion. I would not hesitate to have an IKEa kitchen again - unless I intended to stay in a house forever, then I might consider paying more. Are IKEA Kitchen Cabinets a Good Idea? Good Questions |

Aha you have a couple of the same cushions as me -Jane Foster? We will probably be buying a house very similar soon, has given me some ideas for furniture position. I like the restrained colour very much. Nice, thank you. Josh & Rae's Well Curated Home House Tour |

Yes, they are great but you do have to be sooo careful with hot stuff and recently two of my friends have had bad finger injuries fiddling about with the blade when they were "sure they'd switched it off". I'm terrified of mine! Quick Tip: Use Your Immersion Blender to Puree Fruit |

Very nice. Just wanted to say we have had our nexus cabinets, in a small, heavily used (with 2 children) kitchen for ten years and they are fine! Before & After Remodel: Keeping the Best of the Past |

Janine here. Thank you all so much for all these ideas! I thought you might all laugh my question, It was a bit vague - the US is so vast! Obviously we had worked out a basic itinerary but with all these suggestions there may be some changes he he! I particularly want to thank you all for taking the time to write such detailed answers. I'm sure we'll have a great time, whatever we decide to do. Perhaps I'll write a post about our trip next year and let you know how we get on! What Should a Young UK Family See and Do in the US? Had to comment as this is the first tour I've seen in which the house had a similar size/layout/style to ours. I love the collections in jars and the leaves (did you varnish them?). Although not exactly my taste your home has a lovely relaxed, not-too-designed feel that I love. Rachel & Alfred's Artfully Cataloged Collections House Tour |
