I have an AWESOME home office (I work from home), but spend no more than 10 minutes in it at a time because I just prefer working at the kitchen table or on the couch. Anyway, I always feel guilty using up a whole room on an office that gets no real use.

My grandparents used to have napkins like these in their restauran, it was considered a very "shi-shi" place, but they stopped using them YEARS ago! They were cream and coral, and I never once witnessed anyone ever use them.

At least you lock your doors; I am the absolute WORST when it comes to home security! Even when I lived on the potentially dangerous canals in Venice Beach I had this habit. How I solved it? I haven't! The good news is that I now live on a desolate col-a-sac in a teeny tiny town in North Carolina...

I work from home, so dressing up with full make up and hair done is a must, otherwise I would wear "comfortable" clothes all the time. If I am cleaning the house that is a different story- I go duds all the way!

How Hot Do You Look At Home?

I recently had the exact same thing happen to me! I bought a new couch, and that made me get an itch to change the palette of our living room. I chose to sand and re-stain my coffee table and side tables because those are the high ticket items I didn't want to replace. Then I did a little rearranging of chairs (they went from office to living room), and re-upholstered them. I then bought a new area rug and curtains to compliment the chairs... it wasn't something that happened overnight, and it was not cheap... but it was totally worth it. It's still a work in progress!

Not a fan of hung plates, but plates that are hung anywhere that food is not consumed (ie Bedroom, living room, etc) drives me NUTS!

My Old bedroom had the exact same problem, I did a curtain the same color as the walls, with a headboard. I didn't try to hide the fact that there was a window behind it, however the window was not exactly centered with the bed, so I made the illusion that it was, by hanging a rod the length of the bed (hard to explain, see: http://gallery.apartmenttherapy.com/photo/la-haleyforgehousetour-bethanynauert/item/267717) I thought it work well for us.

oh, and how could I forget Smith's house? He was an only child whose whole house was white, and in their living room they had a basketball court... oh, and they also had books and booooks of naked people. (his dad was a photographer)

Oh my gosh, for me it was the end-all,-be-all to have an intercom system in your house... or to live in a gated community -also to have a vacuum that connected to the wall!

Wow, just WOW... Not too sure I'd like to live in a converted church, but these are very good arguments for it! (Especially since I've see really cool churches for sale/ rent everywhere since moving to NC)
