Another option for formaldehyde-free bamboo flooring is BamStrand from mrbambooflooring.com. This strand woven bamboo flooring meets Leeds Submittal criteria too.

The previous commenter must only be referring to bamboo laminate. You CAN refinish floating bamboo flooring if it is strand woven. Strand woven bamboo flooring such as BamLoc is solid bamboo throughout. It's compressed so it's very dense and hard to scratch or dent. The finish will last for years, but since it's solid bamboo throughout, it can be sanded and refinished down the line.

All bamboo flooring is not the same. Be sure that it is truly dent and scratch resistant. For example, strand woven bamboo flooring such as BamStrand is very dense. See online videos and get samples at http://www.mrbambooflooring.com

Good Questions: Ikea Bamboo Flooring? Yes? No?

All bamboo flooring is not the same. Some cheap stuff is not very green and is basically bamboo veneer on plywood. I found good flooring called BamStrand at Mr. Bamboo.

What I liked about BamStrand: It's formaldehyde-free and is made with non-off gassing adhesives. It's solid bamboo and one of the hardest bamboo floors out there - it has Janka Hardness of 2300-3000. You can find out more at http://mrbambooflooring.com/
