I used to live in a place where the street sweepers woke me up a 3 am every morning and during the winter it was snow plows at around 6. After we moved I actually missed it! Soundproof Your Sleep: Tiered Solutions to Stop Street Noise Renters Solutions |

I am also cloth diapering in hard water, very hard water. I started adding Calgon water softener to my loads and I haven't had a problem since (I use All free). When I first started using it it took me an entire day to strip the diapers but I haven't really needed to strip them since. I do a monthly strip just to be safe but there's no build up anymore, so it just ends up being one extra wash. Rockin' Green Laundry Detergent: Cloth Diapers That Rock & Roll? test lab review |

We just set up the whole crib and a some essentials in our room and then moved the baby into his own room when they were sleeping through the night. Actually with my son, we moved out of the room! My daughter is 7 months and still in our room because she's going to be sharing with big brother until we move into a 3 bedroom. Stylish Sleepers: 15 Simple Chic Bassinets, Cradles, and Baskets |

I would totally strap a helmet on the little man and let him go down one of these except our stairs end abruptly at a metal door. I'm pretty sure this would be two broken feet at our house. A DIY Stairway Slide The Contemplative Creative |

If you're uncomfortable with going yourself, I'd ask your landlord to accompany you to your neighbor's apartment while your partner or a friend walks around in yours. That way you, the neighbors, and the landlord can experience the noise all at the same time and if they're being unreasonable, he/she can tell them. I think some people have an unrealistic expectation about noise in apartment buildings. If they want silence they can move to a house in the woods. I don't mind white walls, it doesn't compete with artwork and I hang a lot of my own work up at home. I also love the look of wooden door/window frames with white walls. I think that if you're going to have white walls you have to have a reason for it or it just looks like you missed a step. Style Inspiration: Tranquil White Bedrooms with Beautiful Textiles |

Thanks for the tip Stephanie! I've been using iphoto for my family photos (for the ease of sharing) and organizing my work photos myself and using Bridge to view them. I'm with Sammylou (except for the diaper wipe). Although my son (6 now) gave up his pacifier at 2 months and the new baby (probably) won't ever use one, I was never a germaphobe with him. We live by the 5 second rule here. Our reward? He's allergy free and I can't remember the last time he was sick. Quick Tip: Keep Pacifiers Clean With Condiment Cups |

3. Does it have bed bugs? Two units in my apartment complex got infested with bed bugs and now they're treating all of the units with chemical sprays every 3 months and weekly inspections. I have a new baby and I now hate my neighbors. Thinking Before Buying at the Thrift Store Vintage Revivals |

I really like their home, I also like that they showed what it looks like while their living in it (open toilet and all). @bitterepiphany, thanks for your story! I wasn't intending to have them share a room past my older going into puberty. He's excited about sharing his room now (he's always hated sleeping in a room alone) but I can't imagine he will be at 12 or 13. Do Shared Toddler/Baby Rooms Work? Good Questions |
