I love my CSA! The Garlic Farm in West Granby, CT used to be a farm stand where the main crop is garlic (!), but he always had other veggies. This is the 3rd year of offering a CSA and it is ideal. About 12-15 lb mix and match of tomatoes, peppers and eggplant, tons of varieties. Also onions, leeks, shallots, garlic, zucchini, basil and butternut squash. Sometimes potatoes and corn. Pick your own flowers and I think this year he might try greens. CSA members get a special price on bread that he gets delivered. It's great because we don't get a bunch of stuff we don't need, but a TON of stuff that we want! Are You Joining a Farm CSA This Year? |

We have this for our plates and pots and pans. It is truly great. We designed it so that the drawers for plates (and silverware) are opposite the dishwasher, so I basically stand in one place and empty most of the dishwasher! Best thing I've ever done. That is a Leibherr fridge and NXR range. We have been happy with both. I will say, the freezer section is small; and the wine section is beautiful, but it takes up a lot of space that might be better served with freezer. It is a little hard to tell, but the wall of cabinets that hold the refrigerator are grey. I forgot to mention that the horizontal wooden boards on the wall are from the original floors. We were going to paint them the same grey as that wall of cabinets, but I loved the look of the raw wood so we kept it. I'm interested in panna cotta. My husband and I had it in Italy 20 years ago, and every time we've tried it since, it hasn't been the same. I think I read once that real panna cotta doesn't use gelatin, but I've never seen a recipe that hasn't used it. I did have some last week from Il Buco Alimentarie in New York and it was great. They had the recipe on a postcard, and I took it, but I haven't made it yet. It's Dessert Week at The Kitchn! 3 Square Meals (Plus Dessert) |

I've been there! Although I was happy not to drink when I was pregnant, I missed the ritual of a Friday night cocktail. I ended up reverting back to my childhood and having a 1:2 ratio of orange juice and ginger ale. I upgraded to good strong jamaican ginger beer and it was pretty good. Enjoy your pregnancy! We bought a Shifman mattress a few years ago when we bought a bed at Stickley. It is the arguably the best piece of furniture in the house! Stickley often offers specials, they also sell floor models. Very much worth the price! A Visit to Shifman Mattress Company Newark, New Jersey |

Friday nights were always "our night." Whether we are with friends, or just us, we never make plans separately. Our standard is to share a beautiful steak, a nice salad, some cheese and a loaf of good wine. A cocktail after work, transitioning to a decent bottle of wine. When they were little we would wait until they were in bed, now they are 9 and 11 and love to join us. Loving My Spouse Through Food |

I wouldn't pay extra for a family only flight, but I would book one if everything were equal. My kids (9 & 11) have traveled a ton since they were babies, and I haven't had any anxiety about their behavior since they were toddlers. But, they definitely know that that pressure is on for them to be well behaved, especially toward flight attendants or if they are sitting next to a stranger. I think a family only flight would be relaxing for them, and the possibility would exist for making a friend for the time to pass faster. Travel with Babies & Toddlers Made Easy |

I have the swivel straight, which works fine for the 11' trees we get. I slide the base into a large galvanized bucket which visually balances the top heaviness of the tree and also catches any overflow of water. I still wire the tree to the wall. I solved this last year. I decided to host a holiday party the Friday before Christmas, since it didn't seem as though any of my close friends had any plans. So, I invited the core group a week before, then 2 days before the party I emailed to the whole extended group, right up to people I hardly know but want to get to know better, friends of friends, told people to bring a friend. I worded it casually, like "Hey, we just decided to throw together this at the last minute, if you can get a babysitter, or if you have another party and would like to stop in if only for a few minutes....." We knew not everyone would have a babysitter, and people would have other plans, so I didn't even expect half of that group would make it. We had a blast with a super fun group, dancing until the last guests left at 2:30 AM! Party Hosting Tips: How Do You Keep a Guest List Small? |

Those Govino glasses are glorious!!! I was at a music festival a few years ago where they used them in the wine tent. You could buy them for $1 (!) and then use them for all of your pours. So many people threw them away, I was pulling them out of the trash bins, took them back to the hotel room and washed them in the sink, then packed them in my suitcase and flew them home with me. That's how much I love them, I rummaged through the garbage for them. You would never think they are plastic by looking at them, they look like really delicate glass, and they are so comfortable to hold with the thumb dimple. I normally don't care for stemless glasses, but I LOVE these. A Guide to Wine Glass Brands: A Few Favorites, Both Classic and Fun! |

My only complaint with the Lodge dutch oven is that the handle on the lid cracked the first time I used it. It is still on tight though, and the dutch oven itself is great. I use it for everything!
