Yes! A few years ago I replaced crappy, worn-out lino in my bathroom with tile (partially recycled materials, I think it was called "Debris). Worth every penny. I used to hate my bathroom, now I love it. 10 Sources for High Quality Tile |

Yes! I was going to say everyone will get rid of their HORRIBLE stainless steel sinks. I'm so glad I kept vintage porcelain kitchen sink, and I love my white appliances, esp. vintage Gaffers & Satler stove. Trend Prediction: What Do You Think is The Next Big Thing? |

What a great idea!!! I love imaginative reuses of junk, but this one's particularly endearing. After I found parts of an obsolete crib at an estate sale, I turned one of the sides into a footboard for my bed. (I have white iron bed frame but chose to buy it without its beautiful - but rather high - footboard, because my 1920's bungalow bedroom is tiny.) The crib side makes a nice low footboard; keeps my bed neat without intruding into the air space. Before & After: Obsolete Crib Makes a Fantastically Functional Set of Shelves |

@Zenezie - I found a small, bright red, metal ice bucket, with lid, at World Market, a few years ago, to use for my bathroom trash. I love not having conventional wastebasket. I hate plastic. Where to Save and Where to Splurge: Bathroom Style on A Budget |

Loveliest bathroom I've ever seen was in Hotel Deux Iles in Paris. Small. Dark (no windows), and a deep cobalt blue. Perfectly organized. Beautiful. I've tried to mimic it in my own small bathroom, but hotel bathroom didn't have kitty litter all over the floor. 5 Qualities of Luxurious Bathrooms: Create One at Home |

To the best of my memory, in the Hitchcock film, Stage Fright, Lionel Jeffries (RIP) had a wonderful sleeping alcove. I've always wanted one like that. Apartment Therapy Goes to the Movies |

Tho' I'd never spend over $30 for a scale, I love your "bests," including the "concept," the "only in the UK," and the 150-lb. limit analog scale (my fav). Great to see what's out there. I currently have a solar-powered scale. But it doesn't work so well in my small dark bathroom :) Best Bathroom Scales 2011 |

I was willing to spend around $500 or $600 for an old-fashioned (not foam) mattress/boxspring combo this year. I did a lot of research, and decided to buy mine from the Original Mattress Factory. I had to pay another $400 to have it shipped from Cleveland, but, after looking at all the alternatives, I think I it was absolutely the right decision...for me. What Is the Right Price for a Bed? I bought a new bed in July. After lots of research, I chose the Orthopedic Luxury Firm mattress from the Original Mattress Factory. I based my choice on Consumer Reports review and on price. Would love for you to test this one, or another OMF mattress, and give your opinion. A Year in Bed: A Modest Proposal |
