What an awesome idea! I'm always battling the dining table vs. desk/catch-all conundrum, it's refreshing to see a solution this attractive. :)

I actually really like this idea (I wasn't sure I would, at first). Kind of makes me want to buy one of those sad little carts...

I made it tonight in a cast iron pan. It was fantastic! I rubbed the inside of the pan with butter first, I think that helped in perfectly crisping the crust.

oliviajennie -- I'm making my attempt in the cast iron tonight, I'll comment later to let you know how it goes!

Bad feng shui. A mirror in the dining room would be great, reflecting eating, therefore encouraging prosperity. A mirror in the kitchen, however, reflects you "slaving over the stove" (even if you do LIKE being in the kitchen), and would represent hardship and toil.

My Momma gets me a magazine subscription almost every year, for my birthday or the holidays. This year I got Martha Stewart, and I am soooooo happy with it! I get excited every time I see it waiting for me in the mailbox. I also subscribe to Real Simple and Dwell. I agree with the previous commenter -- hot cocoa and a magazine is where it's at.

Re: Akay -- You could always hang a shorter liner inside the tub than the curtain outside of the tub. Also, if it's primarily used for bathing rather than showering, you don't really need to bother with the liner.

I like the look of the longer shower curtain, but I usually keep mine about 1-inch off the bathroom floor. If it were just me, it would probably be fine to have a longer curtain, but I live with a man who likes to seal off the bathroom and steam himself for an hour, so mold and general ickyness is an issue in our bathroom.

There is something similar to this on Etsy, but it recommends much better items!

My bike hangs in my bedroom (I'm in a tiny space in Chicago, but I can't risk it being stolen or seeing the worst of the weather), and I think it looks fabulous!

I LOVE all of the old photographs grouped together. I'm always drawn to these photographs of strangers when I visit my favorite "junk" shops, I'm starting to accumulate a small (so far) collection.

I have been searching high and low for another person with a kitchen as tiny as mine, and here it is! Unfortunately, mine doesn't have the brick wall, the gas stove (I have electric) or the fun counters... but switch the sink over the the stove side, and that's my kitchen!

I've been playing with the idea of the fold-out table, as well... I just wish I could warm my kitchen up with fun colors that wouldn't clash with the immediately adjacent living room.

I want to try chalkboard paint as a backsplash (my boyfriend is skeptical about that), and a whole wall of painted pegboard to the left of the stove.

Yup, that's what I loved about my Expedit, as well -- perfect record storage. I don't remember it having unfinished particleboard on either side... it worked perfectly as a room divider.
