Well, now I feel a lot better about the "Kobe" beef I accidentally ordered after the nuclear disaster... I was imagining a green glow for weeks...

Last year I submitted on the last day, very late Pacific Strandard Time (silly!), so this year I sent mine in more safely on the 16th... I have no doubt that the AT team has to sift through a lot of ...well...you know. The main thing is, my apartment is now looking better than ever, so that consoles me :)

Hi AT, I only see one international submission for all of week 4...Did you have to cut back in this category? I submitted from Canada, and really thought my place could make the website...(I tried last year, too)

Thanks for all you guys do- I've enjoyed perusing this entries. At the very least, I'm happy that my little nest had something to strive for :) xox

I'm a piano teacher who works from home, and it's a game among my students to spot the weekly changes to my layout! I'm hoping that they don't see my tendency to experiment with different permutations of furniture as some sign of mental imbalance :P I definitely do feel "off" when the flow isn't right, and I get a major rush of endorphins from the creativity involved in reshaping my surroundings...so I suppose that's why moving furniture for me becomes habit forming. Almost every time I shift things around I feel I am learning more and getting closer to some sort of "ultimate" space, whether that exists or not. I don't think I'll ever be able to stop "chasing the dragon," but I'm having fun, so that's ok with me.

Great topic!

I love orange, but these kitchens are blah. I think it's because the orange needs something to contrast with, otherwise the effect is monotonous.

Here is my current favorite example of orange- a more reddish hue from Wayne's "Warm Retro" Room from the Color Cure- it's stunning against the mint:

This looks incredible- I've never been a fan of the unfinished look of the RAST... but this has looks so polished!

This video is hilarious. Maxwell obviously has a sense of humor about how expensive his jeans are, and the oddness of freezing process, so why is everyone being such a dick about this? And the person who has just "left apartment therapy for good"? Priceless.

The wedding industry makes me shudder- but your home wedding makes me feel hopeful again! After all, weddings are about starting a life together, so it makes perfect sense that you poured your energy into something that lasts- your lovely home.

Congratulations!

It can be done.. carefully.

I was lucky enough to find a eco-mattress on CL that was only 3 months old, from an Aussie that had to move back unexpectedly. I knew I wanted an environmentally friendly mattress, and CL had the brand I wanted. Basically, I got a $1000 mattress for $500.

His posting included picture proof of the super high-quality mattress protector that had been on it since day one. If I ever decide to sell it, I will be sure to post proof of my mattress protector, as well! Really helps put fears to rest.

I don't think there is anything wrong with buying a 2nd hand mattress, if you know what to watch out for. There are people out there who take good care of their things and need to sell them. It happens :)

Good luck to you!!
