you had me at 'grass rug'... wonderful place!!!!

My mother being from Mexico City and a hardcore Catholic, we would always have to wait till after the day of "Our Lady Of Guadalupe" which is Dec 12th which when we were kids we wished it was sooner. Probably within the past 5 years my mother has gotten very lax on the idea and done it as early as the first of December but never the weekend after thanksgiving.

My boyfriend and I are putting ours up Sunday (excited cuz this is our first Christmas living together) can't wait.....

i'm with the rivkie100 crew. I say the potluck is your best bet. Even if they are people you dont know very well the thought that you are contributing in the potluck is awesome. Of course different strokes for different folks, but if youre in a giving mood and can afford to get something, it's a lovely sentiment, though unrequired.

DEFINITELY, practical, quick and easy... wish i had the time to make some of the intricate beautiful wreaths we've seen around the interwebs but time is not on my side... thanks for this idea!!!

My first year of college I got a roomate I absolutely adored. She was fun, outgoing, friendly and an absolute sweetheart. Here I thought my luck was amazing. Not so much, she got hired on as a resident assistant at another dorm and second semester she was replaced by a hell spawn. The girl never spoke to me, always had her boyfriend over, never seemed to go to class and when my (then long distance) boyfriend sent me a dozen roses, she decided it would be fun to pour bleach on the roses.. (not in the water, simply over the roses). Another day I came home around 3 a.m. to find her boyfriend jumping around on my bed in his underwear.... our final day at the dorm it took EVERY last ounce of restraint for me not to pour bleach throughout her entire closet....

I like the look of the burlap but am not at all fond of the upholstery looking tacks.. maybe its the size or the distance apart... not sure...

dustinstruckmeyer- apparently one of her readers commented they sell odorless burlap online. But she said she had no issues with the smell but she does wish she washed it first due to fuzz issues.

Everyone on AT cracks me up. Commenters are just as quick to have their opinions as the writers so don't be so harsh. How many times have I read people snub other entries as "not apartment therapy worthy"... the writer was self proclaimed as a flower snob and is entitled to an opinion as the rest of us. Yes its rude but its also hilarious... deal with it and be happy that you have grateful friends and let bygones be bygones.

Holy moley....Life has taught me enough to know how ugly a thing envy can be so I do my best to keep it at bay... and then people like darian come along. LOve LOVE LOVE it all.... love.

cassielynn i find your room to be very cozy and inviting. never be weary of posting ANYthing on AT... personal style and personal tastes are never to be based on what anyone else does or doesnt like. kudos for being on AT!! :)

wow, so many opinions must be overwhelming!! Everyone has an opinion and different styles and tastes. Considering the mixed reviews you got on the original look, go with what you know you like. Personally I'm not a fan of the diamond pattern, why not try it just as it is in Amys kitchen? One thing I must say i agree with is the glass knobs. They will add a soft elegance that you may be missing. Either way, please come back and update!! :)
