@nicole187 - you can have them made in any dimension you want and covers to match. IT isn't cheap, but I've done it with great results.

I have seen this exact sofa on CL a few times in teh last year - for about half price.

Maybe just keep your eyes open.

Since I've entered the contest, I haven't really voted on any yet. I LOVE this room and will be voting.

I'll add breakfast burritos to this list! I was STARVING in the morning and breastfeeding and needed to scarf something one handed with a newborn. I'm due any moment now with #2 and spent all day yesterday wrapping breakfast burritos and freezing them for that one handed morning eating.

I bought mine on craigslist - so no idea! My husband insists it is called a "shaving chest" but if you google that, you get a lot of naked men pictures :) "shaving chest midcentury" got me more results that make me think he knows what he's talking about :)

There is a local store in SF called "A Happy Planet." They do sell online as well - not cheap, but we love our bed (bought a second for our toddler as well).

I hate you for posting #4. I have been shopping for duvet covers for weeks now and that is perfect.

And an INSANE amount of money.

Thanks folks :) The color is definitely more of the dark grey and not that purple. The wall art is from thrift stores - sorry! It isn't too hard to find that style though!

The chandelier is from Cost Plus - we didn't have an overhead light in our room. Since the new layout didn't leave room for even a standing lamp, we used a chain light kit from Home Depot (in the wrong color - one of these days we'll spray the chain to match the chandelier).

@skylarkmelody, my son calls our room "The beehive" because the light shade does cast really cool shadows on the walls! Totally not intentional, but fun to have a room with a name!

@miranar, the pregnancy pillows are NOT relaxing or minimal - they live in the crib during the day so I don't have to look at them :)

The walls are Benjamin Moore Steel Wool - my husband was HORRIFIED when he came home (at dusk) to what looked like black walls, but once it was all decorated (with the white duvet cover and curtains) we both look forward to cozying up there.

We used rubber gym tiles on ours. It looked HORRIBLE, but was good for wrestling and when the water heater blew up and the basement flooded during a rain storm, they were so easy to clean up (though hard to see the floods b/c the water just ran under them.

We also had flor tiles on top of them to make the room look better but the flor tiles wouldn't stick together (you aren't supposed to install on top of rubber) and honestly, I ended up not really loving the floor tiles.

I love the look of our stained concrete (super easy and cheap) - so we might just keep that at this point.

Even after following hte directions, watching a youtube video, and everything, I do the process and still end up balling it up and shoving it in the cupboard.

An ikea couch that looked good and I thought we wouldn't care about comfort since it was in a basement room - UGH. NEVER AGAIN.

Also following the trend of super color in my bedroom - turquoise headboard, yellow curtains, etc - It looked cool but was so not relaxing or "me" Total waste of a year of DIY projects.

We usually only buy things we can resell, so other than the ikea couch (which we took a 300 hit on), we re-sold everything and I got to have fun re-decorating in a way I liked.

I love stuffing but the plain boring kind :) My sister always makes a "fancy" one with nuts and dried fruit or sausage, and mine is sourdough, chicken broth, butter, celery, onions and sage (with lots of pepper). I love it super moist. We fry our bird so the stuffing is in a dish.

I realized yesterday that three rooms in my house are a deep dark blue with white accents. I just fricken love how clean it looks. And gorgeous with browns, blacks and golds.
