Also would like to be friends with the trickster and think that is the coolest "keep calm" poster idea EVER. A little irritated with the person that thought you ment some show. Deffinately don't hate these signs anymore and kinda like 'em. I too thought it was some thing from etsy. foolish foolish me.

Stil alot of people hatin' on the sofa! Can't believe it! I do have some practical questions having a similar furniture set up at my last place. I agree with the previous posters about slipage, I remember the cushion I had on my daybed would always slip off the mattress. Does the linnen keep that from happening as bad, mine had a cotton-poly blend. Also the issue of couchie-ness, I know now you have bolster pillows as a back, but does it really improve the chair effect? I would love to do this again, but did come to hate my daybed at my last house, which is why it never came out at my current residence. Do I just need more pillows?

I love the idea and look and think I want to have a room like this in my new place. I love the light and airy feel, love the way you've found toys that don't scream "A KID LIVES HERE", but don't have to be hidden. The way you describe the lighting effect with the shades of white in the small cool book is very smart and really finnishes a room that could easily be confused for a renters white at first glance (and also keep me out of trouble if a landloard didn't want you painting.) It's interesting and bright though. I also think even four hundred dollars for this is outrageous, although if it's all natural fibers I guess I can see it. I think I'll just buy some linen and maybe burlap for texture and make some cushions, throw 'em on a matress. Jo Ann fabrics has sheets of foam the size of a twin bed that would be perfect for making cushions.

yea, drill some holes for drainage and put it on the deck. What a beautiful planter. Think I may try this for toys in the boys' room!

Love it. So simple yet not plain at all! I love the little boxes on the walls. Where did you get them?

Love the magnetic jars, and just the whole medicine cabenet set up, although again, Martha's apothicaries always match and are in pretty bottles. A big red a white Tylenol bottle and gray and green hairspray can don't quite have the same appeal.

HAHA yea. I forgot that one, shower curtain rod! I had to take baths for the first week at my place and ended up making an emergency store run one night to buy one. It was overpriced and not what I wanted, but live and learn. This one's mine, it's comin' with me.

Arkay has a point. Gotta know where the coffee and supplies are and some clothes. It's easy, especially if you've been short on time, to pack everything up in a day or two and then get to the new place, look around and wonder which box your work clothes are in and which one the toiletries are in, even if you mark them well.

Another one for Domino's book, but my top favorite has to be the Apartment Therapy book that got me interested in interior design! I never knew that you could incorporate yourself into your home and keep it tasteful. I keep asking for it for Christmas and not getting it. I'm surprised the library wont just let me keep it considering how many times I've borrowed it. If I knew where there was a book store these days I'd go buy it. Guess I'll have to try Amazon.

I had the same thought on PP
s pasta sauce and cans, but whatevs. I have my spices in a rack with lids facing out. spices are labeled on top (Morton and Basseit sells there spices in awesome jars with lid labels). there's not really a system except that I try and put everything back where it was. It's super easy though, since I can see everything.

Everyone's so mean. I love it although I would have more color than a blanket and some flower stems. I found this looking for minimalist inspiration for m new place. I LOVE IT! Put these pics on my idea board. Am a little curious about the black dog, but none of my bussiness. I recently had to give away my little black long hair mutt. Although I miss her, my house is SOOOOOOOO much cleaner!

My real question is, where do I get that bed. It has a very low profile.

I will attest to the fact that my current bed bug situation is the worst thing i've ever gone through and I've been through quite a bit. My lovely apartment came with them included. Imagine that. I'm very tired but so afraid to sleep.

haha yea...I don't know anyone who'd really use these things. Again as many people posted in the what to give a party host post. Not everyone drinks so that narrows it down to a mustache guide or ipod speaker...I don't know anyone with a mustache or ipod...

I agree, I would rather not get any trash. I have a hard enough time disposing of the crap I accumulate myself. Food and drink are always nice and can be put out at the party for guests if I wouldn't want them myself, although achohol maybe not so much. Not much of a drinker and avoid people who are. If you don't know me well enough to get a thoughtful present that's fine, a thank you for the invite will safice.

I have a toddler so opted for painting this year (dispite my love of knives and gooey guts), however I still want my seeds and anything else yummy they have to offer, so I bought us pie pumpkins and plan on using non-toxic washable paint. After halloween I'll wash them, roast them and bake some pies!!!!!

My parents used to live in a house with Virginia Creeper on the corner. It was beautiful and never caused problems, structural or otherwise. It was in Denver, so in the winter, when it would dry out, we'd just go out run our fingers across the wall a few times and it was trimmed back for next season. Have to agree that it is one of the most beautiful fall plants. Didn't have any pest problems here, but we don't have rats or many snails. Lots of ants here, but never on our vines.
