I am intrigued by this question and have been doing some research over the last few weeks. I was convinced after visiting the Gardens that it is a very special blue and not the sort of thing you can just pick up easily.

I will try 154ravine's suggestion tomorrow (have sourced in London) however I am more drawn towards the Ultramarine Blue/Yves Klein Blue in the Le Corbusier range of KT Color in Switzerland. This is clearly a special paint - or the product of some great marketing - hopefully both. There is no UK distributor for KT Color but the European retailers will ship to UK at a reasonable cost (€20 for 4 day delivery). This paint is at least three times the price of the Rosco stuff but sounds like the bizniz. Will report back.

I also have some deep blue pigment picked up in Marrakesh after a trip to the Majorelle Gardens - altho didn't buy at the Gardens. I will try to get it mixed up into a paint but I only have a few ounces and don't think it will go far enough for my needs.

If anyone else thinks they've got close to "THE" blue, let us know.

Good Questions: Where Can I Find Majorelle Blue Paint?
