Love this, it's what my place is going to look like in another 6 months or so if I continue going to French fleamarkets every week! I also have an etsy shop, vintage and handmade, and feel your pain about storing it in the second "bedroom'! Well done, and thanks!

Those huge houses are so vulgar to me; the one with the family in front is so much more appealing - and still seems big compared with what I know. I grew up in a terraced house of a kitchen, sitting room, one small bathroom and three bedrooms - all quite small! My parents shared beds and used outdoor toilets. The last thing this poor earth needs is another over-sized and overpriced mansion!

D, because it's old and unfamiliar to me!

Hmmm... I respect and admire her will and discipline to live where she wants to live, but can't help feeling that the place is not being used in the best way possible; seems needlessly higgledy-piggledy to me, and I am only being critical of this aspect because she is billed in the introduction as a "professional organiser". Fair play for sleeping in that bed, though!

Gorgeous!! So simply but so nicely done. I feel the same about the office chairs. I fell in love with the white wicker-effect Gregor chair at Ikea, and am now the pround owner.

I think it's a cool little space, but in my humble opinion way too safe, and begging for some colour and personality!! Feels like a show room to me, though I do like what seems like two beer bottles as oil bottles beside the cooker!

I get what bridmw is saying, but I was delighted to even see a mention of something Irish!! I am in France now (near Lille) but I spent a year or so living in Dublin (on the northside!) Most of the places featured here I frequented or saw weekly.
I always smiled to myself walking past Knobs & Knockers on the way to my French class in the Alliance Francaise, and I spent many a while (and a euro) longing for lovely books and stationery in Hodges Figgis too. I was back in Ireland last week for a long-overdue but too-short visit, and Avoca was top of my list while in Dublin. I also made a deliberate detour to pass by and admire Carluccio's lovely decor and packaging. However, best neighbourhood park for me (just a little bit out of the city centre) was the Botanic Gardens. Just lovely, and I had the luck of living just around the corner! You wouldn't be doing your weekly shop in Fallon & Byrne, mind you!

Really really well done José! Brilliant place! It's so gorgeously adorable and homely (again, in the best sense of the word). In fact, I clicked on your tour because I recognised my style in the photos and was delighted with your write-up; you describe exactly how I like things (Swedish, Japanese and Mexican influences - I was worried I was a design schizo!) Thanks!!

I adore the new colour, and would love the same for my similarly-challenged bathroom!! Not mad on the skirt but the overall result is flippin' great. Well done.

And to those who are concerned about germs from flushing toilets - is that a joke or what? I lived for 20-odd years with a family of toothbruses two feet away from an open toilet, and have hardly been sick in my life. Paranoia!!

I love this. I'm all for making do with what you have (or if you are like me and starting out, I scour second-hand shops and websites). LOVE the feeling of finding something for nothing that has had a previous life.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous... love the mix of colours, textures and shapes. And where oh where is that lovely cake stand from? I want it!! I also want one of your globes - if I had one I would put it within reach where I could spin it and dream... they seem so sad and neglected up there on that bookcase shelf. Really fab place though.

How flippin' cute and gorgeous is this house!? It's what my place is in the process of becoming. And you have reminded me that I really want to try keep it second-hand, vintage, re-used etc. Thanks for the inspiration!
