After I run always have a lot of water first and then hit the shower. This helps me cool down and decide how hungry I really am. Then, usually I go for a piece of fruit (my favorite is a giant sweet honeycrisp apple, nice and cold from the fridge) for quick sugar energy and Greek yogurt for protein. After long runs (8+ miles) I'll also have a banana or coconut water for electrolytes and potassium. For triathlon training, I make these raw energy bars and cut them into 1 inch cubes. http://www.justasdelish.com/raw-energy-bar/ I take them with me on my bike-to-runs and double training days, and they are great fuel without being too heavy or sugary like store-bought energy bars can be. Lagunitas IPA - so grassy and hoppy, yet crisp and refreshing. Definitely my favorite IPA. I also love Victory HopDevil and Commodore Perry IPA from Great Lakes Brewing. Man I love hops. What's the Difference? Pale Ales, IPAs, & Double IPAs Beer Sessions |

Finger Lakes Distilling's Maplejack liqueur! It's made with NY State apples and maple syrup, and is perfect for spiking hot cider, or swap it for sweet vermouth in a kicked up Manhattan. Even better, it's delicious as a flavoring in buttercream, whipped cream, or creme anglaise for boozy desserts. Stocking Your Bar for Autumn: Laird's Applejack Straight Up Cocktails and Spirits |

Home smells like the starchy steam coming out of a boiling pot of pasta. When the pasta was cooking I knew dinner was almost ready, and I would hover around the stove until my mom announced "COME EAT!". She would let me "help" her dump the pasta into a colander in the sink and big billows of starchy steam would give us a pasta facial. Ritual Meals: What Does Home Taste Like? |
