I agree with the comfy place to nurse/feed the baby, be it glider, futon, or whatever, PLUS a little table next to it. We got a cheap and small night stand so we could have a place to put the ol' iPhone (nursing timer app!) or kleenex or glass of water so they would be close at hand when I was nursing. If you co-sleep or nurse in bed, you've probably already got your regular nightstand for that purpose, but if not, it is a great addition. What Are Your Nursery Must-Haves? Nesting a Nursery |

I recommend Spare the Rock Spoil the Child -- http://sparetherock.com/wordpress/ . It's a great kid's music show on a local radio station in MA, but you can also listen online or as a podcast. It includes most of the kids' artists listed above, kids music by musicians who primarily write for adult audiences, and regular ol' rock songs that are family appropriate. It's pretty great. Yes, yes, yes!!! What a great show. It's also available as a podcast through iTunes, if you're so inclined. Bill also just produced a great CD of family music called Many Hands: Family Music for Haiti. Proceeds go to Haitian People's Support Project. We're giving a couple as gifts for the holidays. I've lived there for a couple years now, and it's great. We love our (affordable, cute, solar-powered) house and our neighbors. Come visit! Mount Rainier Homes, Garden & Green Tour 2010 |

When we moved into our house a couple years ago, we found two messages in the basement. One was clearly written by a kid and said, "I hope someone will buy da house." The other one, spray painted onto a wall previously obscured by shelves, said, "I'm Rick James, B*tch." Messages Left Behind in Old Homes |

I've stayed at the Cedar Creek treehouse. It was a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Cannot recommend it enough! We're from the east coast and incorporated a couple days there into a longer visit to Seattle and Mt. Rainier. Treehouse Hotels Escape Roundup | Apartment Therapy DC |

I was watching an Onion video clip just yesterday, and the joke tag at the end was "Still ahead this hour...Five Great Breakfast Wines." I thought it was hilariously outlandish. Guess not! Wine With Breakfast, Anyone? | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I have the same feeling about some of my hate-tos, so I also timed them. Unloading the dishwasher, I can do in 3 minutes. I discovered that blow drying my hair (no, not a housekeeping task, but it feels like a chore for sure) takes 4 minutes. I'm glad I timed these out so I can remind myself of the reality of the situation when I'm feeling grody. Granted, these are pretty self-contained tasks that won't lead to more like, say, reorganizing my t-shirt drawer after sorting laundry. Guilty. I've ordered online from shopbakersnook.com before. They shipped my orders very quickly and they seem to have a pretty huge variety of boxes. Where Can I Buy (Small Quantities!) of Bakery Boxes? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I second Cherrydale in Arlington and give an even bigger thumbs up to Fraeger's Hardware on Capitol Hill in DC. An amazing store with a very helpful staff. I still don't know how they fit everything in there AND remember where it all is. It is so much fun to shop there! Apartment Therapy New York | Helpful Hardware Stores |

This year I did container gardening for the first time ever, too. (We used the Square Foot Gardening book by Mel Bartholomew since I had never gardened. At all. I've seen that fabric at the College Park, MD, Ikea. They definitely have two birdie-related patterns (one with a light brown accent color, and another with a gray-blue accent color), and they also have the fabric version of the new Billy shelf door pattern with the blue and green trees. I hear you, adriennep. If you're looking for more ideas for kid-friendly rock that doesn't make your ears bleed, a show I like is Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child on WRSI in MA. If you're not in the area, you can see the playlists at their blog at http://sparetherock.com/ and get a link to listen to the shows on demand. Excellent music. They had Elizabeth Mitchell as a guest a while ago. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Survey: Music for Kids |

I definitely do the timer thing for small projects and cleaning. If I'm feeling strapped for time and give myself, say, 15 minutes to clean a room, I'm always amazed at how much I can get done. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Getting Projects Done: Build In Accountability |

I bought the Drommar reusable cake doilies and used them to great effect for a bake sale display. Durable, cute, and nice colors. They have some coordinating cocktail-sized paper napkins, but I forget the name. I also got the cake stencils but haven't had a chance to use them yet. Looking forward to it, though.
