Look for any of the CBTL models (Caffitaly in other countries) I have the Kaldi; fantastic crema, great roasts (and the machines are pretty attractive, colors are unusual) much better than any other pod machine I've tried. What Is the Best Replacement for My Senseo Coffee Maker? Good Questions |

Have a late 40s O'Keefe & Merrit- it's mostly great. Was purchased 'reconditioned' so was perfect for several years. After 18 months or so in storage it was a bit wacky temp wise, but it's not terribly hard to recalibrate. My one caveat would be: Do you bake alot? It IS a hassle with baked goods, though more cakes/breads than cookies- other than that, not a problem. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Can You Offer Some Advice on Vintage Gas Ranges? I will 2nd the greatness of the Zojirushi. We got it primarily to have an easy way to make sticky rice- but it's nice to save burner space too. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Quick Tip: Season Your Rice! |

I've had this same issue lately- and found that using my 'gardeners' soap helps alot. It's far more moisturizing than any of the creamy soaps (it's a bar) and my hands feel both clean and softer after washing. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Winter Woes: Four Soothing Solutions for Dry Hands |

We just harvested 3 of these bad boys (16 lbs and 2 20 pounders) TEN more on the vine... So happy for more squash/pumpkin recipes! Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Seasonal Recipe: Pumpkin Soup with Bacon |

Most of our breakfast bacon is done this way- but swap out the salt for some cayenne or hot paprika (sprinkle on before baking). Brown sugar can get pretty runny (and burn onto the pan) turbinado sugar seems to melt but not run all over the place. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Try This! How To Make Candied Salted Bacon |

I don't think peppers ever have a bumper crop here (PNW)- it's just not hot enough, long (or early) enough. We've harvested a few, but they average 1-2 peppers per plant- still tasty but means I want/need to try a hoop house on the pepper bed next year. Pretty much giving up on lettuce, can't find the right spot for it- and takes more time/patience than I'd like. Plus, lettuce is cheap at the farmer's market. Didn't have enough summer squash- so no torturing the neighbors. And can ALWAYS deal with more tomatoes- we did 7 heirlooms this year and fell in love with freezing marinara sauce. Looks like a lemony dutch baby to me! Cracked, no shell, eggy and clafoutis-esque all point in that direction. Lemon zest would be a good start- we always had them with fresh lemon wedges (squeeze em over the top) and then dusted (or coated) with powdered sugar. We too have Marmoleum, and so far (2 years in) it's great. I went for a black/white pattern (mostly black) which keeps me from worrying about staining. Have pretty much exclusively had hideous and poor quality vinyl in rentals- tell me why they thought adding a physical texture to that stuff was smart? My eggplants have just barely started to put on any growth- and they've been in ground for 2 months! I guess there's still time to hope, but man while everything else just multiplies, they sit, tiny and unmoving. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Best Garden Surprise: Fairy Tale Eggplants |

I mix some plain yoghurt with pesto- homemade or just a jar from TJ's- it's perfect. Light and takes nearly no time at all. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Artichoke Dipping Sauces: Looking For Healthier Options Good Question |

When I make cucumber water- I boil it first (a trick I learned from our local Thai restaurant- it's more 'refreshing') and after cooling (but not chilling) put some sliced cucumbers in, and refrigerate. By the time it's chilled- it has infused enough (at least for me) Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Refreshing Drink for Summer: Cold-Brewed Iced Tea |

Wow, looks like a great start! We gave up on the lawn and are in the process of converting the front to edibles/drought tolerant perennials. We missed the window for early plantings too. But that's ok, we're knee deep in nightly strawberry picking, and watching the blueberries deepen in color- they're so fat they look ready to explode. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Backyard Gardening: First Radish From the Garden |

Hmm, ice cream, that might be interesting! We recently 'discovered' that what appeared to be a generic green shrub in the yard was actually a bay laurel. Never will I have to settle for the crumbly dregs in the bulk bins! Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | From the Spice Cupboard: Bay Leaf |

I love using it to core apples- but any recommendations for one sturdy enough for the task? I've had a series of inexpensive ones that bend or snap after a year or so- I'm willing to shell out a bit more if there's one that might say make it to year 5... ValHalla- check out Marmoleum http://www.forbo-industries.com/ we had it installed in our kitchen, the roll did have a slightly plasticky odor when we picked it up, but it dissapated in literally hours, zero smell/odor once installed. Lots of great patterns (though nothing as fantastic as those starbursts) but lots of installers can do cut out type embellishments that are similar. They seem handy, and while I don't have/use one, there was a wall mounted one in my kitchen when I bought it. Initially I thought it'd be a cool, useable relic- but then I realized it smelled strongly of turkey. From how many years previous I don't know, so in the interest of not grossing out people with a smelly used electric knife, to the donation box it went. I did a mini remodel of my bath last year (same layout as yours, and I assume, just as tiny) For those reasons I'd echo the advice above to tile the walls vs paint. Painting in a room that small is just really difficult/annoying, so if you can afford it, tile away. Are you sure there's enough room to make pendants practical? With our square footage, I wouldn't want to lose any useable vertical space... The vanity and cabinet look nice, but really don't go with the flooring pattern. I'd do something a bit simpler to go with the classic subway tile. Apartment Therapy New York | Good Questions: Bathroom Remodeling Advice? |
