Are these all actual renovations, or are some of them just cg models? Maybe it's just the way the photos have been taken, or perhaps I'm missing something?

Well since it's not done, it's hard to comment. The before looks better now because it's completed and cohesive.

I get the feeling that everything's washed out and faded, but not in a cool and intentional way. More like being stuck in an old magazine.

Yay! Pink! The best color that doesn't really exist in the spectrum. It does look a bit more salmon, or even orange from the picture, but it's lovely either way.

It's true bepsf. The sweaters in the stores always eye me suspiciously.

And I haven't read a lick of the article, but there are towns in the US without any public transportation. I live in one. To bike or to walk anywhere would take hours because it's all spread out over farmland.

Just tossing that around for anyone who might care. I'd love to not have a car, mostly because I'm cheap.

I love the idea because they're usually very well built with tons of architectural details. And if you find it a bit weird, they can be/are um...decommissioned by the associated religious authorities. I do think the inside of this one does need a bit more work, however.

I am so confused. I think this looks great, but I'm wondering if some of the images have been mirrored, but I'm too lazy to try and figure it out for sure. Like, is the kitchen even still a part of this place?

Love em to bits. Itty bitty undead bits. Although I'd honestly prefer if they were a bit more hideous. I'm not a fan of the big frilly dresses, but you can't have everything I suppose. Good on her.

Depends on their age. Probably not the best for say, a toddler who can't make it up there in the first place. I've always wondered though, why I've never fallen out of my normal height bed, nor known any of my friends to, but have flipped over the guard rail in a bunk-bed a few times. A room mate of mine in college had an especially funny nearly 7 foot fall.

I do agree that the placement of this one seems odd. Both the positioning of the bed itself and the height off the floor. The decor is cute, but the cabling always looks better to me with a more modern and minimalist style.

blahblahblah

Lol. Has no one here lived in a dorm? I'm assuming she has a private rest room, if so, she's got 1 up on thousands of kids currently in school. I think it's fantastic. Although I would have gone for mounting the tv over the trunk and using the space above the sink for something else.

I'd actually dig the colored crystals, minus the feet and the hojillion dollar price tag.

Grah. I wish people would post more pictures of an entire room, instead of closeups of their doodads and thingymabobs. That said, very pretty.

To answer cremdela, yes! Plus, you can often take them with you when you move, unlike: the kitchen cabinets, backsplash, or floor. And if they're really old and dated, who cares? The vintage and retro 50's fridges are my favorites because they're so well designed and thoughtful.

I shall have a pink one. One day *shakes fist at the world*

I don't know. I think they're nice enough patterns for each individual piece. I can't imagine I'd play them altogether in anything but a kids room, and only those in the last photo.

The other do resemble old movie seats in a way that doesn't inspire nostalgia.

I happen to like being childish. I also happen to like skulls, and bones, and faux zebra hide rugs. I suppose that makes me mean and scary and evil. Dun dun dun!

I love it! I'd toss in some colorful flowers and paint the door pink, but that's my solution to everything. It would also be fantastic to decorate for Halloween!

Pant can be just fine, if you only have one leg.

None of the pictures look like the same color to me. One is mustard, another gold, one chartreuse, one sort of lime, and another baby poo.

I suppose I'm just not hip.
