I don't understand how making a smartphone transparent makes in any less secure. As long as the casing was as strong as existing non-transparent varieties, it wouldn't be any easier to break than my existing phone.

In general, I'd be all for it - It would still be the same size and shape, but look less bulky sitting on my desk. I might lose it a little more easily, but would probably adjust. Granted, it would probably attract more fingerprint/makeup smudges, I don't see any huge security issue with simply making a phone transparent.

I will now forever be in love with that tetris bookcase. And $3500 - 7000?? Unrequited love.

To appeal to his more minimalist dynamic, I'd make sure that whatever you choose you go with a look that polished.

Add some color, some texture, whatever, but keep it consistent throughout. Minimalist design doesn't have to be uncomfortable - just understated and clean.

You could easily go with something like that a couple comfy chairs (or one of those itty-bitty loveseats some stores are selling now) and add a desk too. But I'm big on desks, so maybe a little dining table?

@berryblu - I'd love to check out what you have! My partner and I just moved locations and it's been a slow process of outfitting our tiny tiny capitol hill basement.

We're definitely still in need of a lot. My biggest challenge is patience - I always just want to fill up the space. I am trying to learn not to just buy whatever fits, and instead take the time to pick items that really speak to our asthetic.
