we have the porch light on from dusk till dawn, as my neighborhood is iffy with drug deals round the corner all the time. the neighborhood association encourages us to leave the light on as the bad guys usually avoid lighted area.

also because the light is on a dimmer, i had to use regular incandescent.

unfortunately.

thanks for the recs. i guess i'll just have to accept curtains ain't cheap :)

if only the target ones come in 108"... most of the discount stores only have curtains up to 96".

morning. i am looking for 108" grommet top curtains like these

1. RH http://tinyurl.com/3bp943 (too expensive) or
2. ikea http://tinyurl.com/2v9zq3 (color i want is not available)

Is there any other stores i should check? I've looked at the usual suspects CB, CB2, WE, JCP, Sears, RH, PB etc.., or is it possible to buy regular curtains and put my own grommets in? TIA.

i'd love to buy the metal cubes to hang on the wall behind my toilet (i personally do not like the look of an etagere, makes me nervous). But those are super expensive, so I am searching for cheaper alternatives.

Does anyone know if I can buy cubes and hang them myself? For eg. these Large cubes from organized.com http://www.organize.com/lardivcub.html

well, whaddya do with the cord? leave it plugged in? I know I always wrap the cord around the hair dryer (I know I probably shouldn't), it seemed like except for the bottom left one, there isn't really a cord solution with these.

klyncher: the spikes on the jackfruit is flatter and smoother, doesn't hurt when you run your palm over it. Durian's spikes, on the other hand, hurts and will draw blood if you're not careful.

The texture of the fruits are also different, durians are more mushy, and jackfruits are more solid and fibrous(?). Though I'm not sure fibrous is the right word, i can't think of another word now to describe it.

wow such divided opinions! that's kinda funny.

Raena: my mom boiled the durian seeds too!

It is amazing how drinking husk water gets rid that weird aftertaste in the mouth. As many has mentioned drinking salt water is a must to prevent sore throat after consuming durians.

My brother also eats durian frozen. Open the fruit, take the "meat" out, put it in a plastic container and stick it in the freezer.

Also to echo Hazel's comment, durians from different regions of different countries do taste different. Thai's durian are more supple and less fragrant IMO and Malaysia's smaller sized durians are more mushy but the smell is definitely stronger.

Mmm.... I miss durian.

we just bought the Bisect platform bed from CB2, it was featured in the AT post (scroll to the very end): http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/beds-mattresses/cb2-bed-roundup-006397

It was very heavy and sturdy, but on the downside it took us 2 hours to put it together. Can't complain though, I love the look and the quality so far.
