We staged a different kind of "naked game" once - a friend of mine had just started at a new law firm and invited her new co-workers to a house party, along with many of her regular friends. Not one of the snobby new co-workers showed up, so to show them what they "missed out on", we staged a game of Naked Twister - guys in bathing trunks and girls in bikini bottoms, artfully photographed to look fully nude. She always had a full roster of guests from the law firm after that. :-D Naked Gaming Party: Fake But Dare We Say Possible? |

My kitchen has a small (4' x 8') space that used to be an entry from the exterior, walled up before I bought the house. The water heater lives in the back and we used to keep the fridge in front, but it blocked access to the electrical panel, so I had my brothers move the fridge to the laundry room and have created a tiny pantry space in front of the heater. Since I only have a galley kitchen that 4'x4' space seems luxurious.... Use Every Inch: Getting Creative with Kitchen Storage |

My 65 lb Eskimo mix only gets on the bed during the winter - he can't stand to be that warm during the summer months, so he's a seasonal "guest". The cats lay on me whenever they want, but the one with the annoying habit of laying on my ankles gets booted if she heads that way, because it will inevitably end with me having a horrible charlie horse. They all get thrown out of the room if they start wandering onto other furniture, like the nightstand or dresser. Furry Bedfellows: Do You Sleep with Your Pet? NY Times |

I don't have an entryway! I live in a small cottage that started life as a summer vacation home. No entryway, no hallways. You either walk right into the middle of the living room or into the laundry room. I'd love to have a small foyer or coat closet.

I love beautiful bedding, especially comforters and duvets, and actually own several, but with a large dog that likes to sleep on the bed during the cold weather and 3 cats who like to sleep on the bed every dang day, I usually end up throwing a colorful sheet on top of the duvet so I don't have to wash it every week. Sooo - not investing in any new comforters at the moment, but Anthro and the Company Store catalog are terribly hard to resist.... Get Cozy With Indulgent Bedding |

Oven knobs!! My last oven had knobs you could just pull off and throw into a sinkful of hot, soapy water along with the burner covers but the current ones won't come off at all. I'm reduced to using full-strength cleaner or vinegar on q-tips to get behind them. Ugh. Fresh Start: 5 Places That Always Need Cleaning |

LovieDovie - please DON'T microwave plastics with food inside! Chemicals used in the production of the bags can be released into the food by the microwave. I'd use a pot of really warm tap water to soften the soup. The Best Way to Freeze Single Servings of Soup |

Just a comment for people to try and confirm what a shelf will hold before they invest. I got some gorgeous brackets from IKEA - they support the shelf on either end, very sleek and minimalist. The problem is, the shelves IKEA supplied with these brackets are so flimsy they begin to sag in the middle even before anything is put on them! I had to get huge ugly angle brackets to shore up the shelves after realizing this. So much for minimalist. Staggered Shelving: 10 Good Sources |
