Cool branch! I like it as is... the natural undulating shape and the color is a nice counterpoint to your more formal couch, perfectly round mirror, and general sleekness of the room. Depending on how you mount it, you could always use it as a sort of wall shelf and put some funky object on it, or even hang something from it. Awesome home. Some of the photos were stunning. The kitchen cabinets sort of stuck out to me, in an odd way, they didn't fit with the rest of your place. But that's the only thing I would change. Very unique place. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | SF House Tour: Stacy Pancake's Simple Home |

Birch - Hansel's loft in Zoolander was the first thing that popped into my mind. LOVE that movie! "And you know what? I was right. I've never even been to Mount Vesuvius!" Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Loft Living in the Movies |

I was once awakened by a squirrel who had fallen down my skylight into my bathroom, and was freaking out, running around and knocking everything over. This was in NYC. It took hours for him to calm down enough for me to shoo him out my window onto the fire escape. My boss said it was the best excuse she had ever heard for someone coming in late to work. Absolutely one of my favorites in this competiton! So many interesting, quirky choices and surprises... yet it's cohesive and serene. The personality feels honest, rather than forced. Wonderful job!!! Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Southwest #17: Matthew's Cartoonist Corner |

To me, this space is almost a "wow". I agree with the other posters about the TV - it just looks too large for the space. Centering it would certainly help. Since you don't have other placement options in that room, what do you think of getting a slightly smaller TV and mounting it IN the fireplace, then putting something else on top to balance it out? The white rug in the living room is in an odd place. Why not place it under the black couch and coffee table to help delineate the space? I love your trunk-as-coffee-table, but it seems too tall for your couch. Perhaps you could move it to the side and use it as a side table. Finally, some of the furniture in the living area is placed at odd angles. Perhaps you angled the items just for these photos? It jumps out to me as awkward. I do love your color palette - sometimes this much white is so sterile, but your place is interesting and cozy. Your furniture and knick-knack choices are interesting and if I were in your apartment, I'd want to touch and play with everyone. Bravo on a lovely place, and thank you for sharing! Embrace the small width - wallpaper/decal/paint tree trunks on the walls, so when you walk down the hallway it feels like you're walking through a forest. And I agree with the above posters about the importance of lighting. Apartment Therapy New York | Good Questions: How Can I Liven Up My Hallway? |

Have to disagree with above. I love the panel as is, it's dramatic and unexpected, more unexpected than putting it above the sofa. Plus, I suspect it might be too big and dominating above the sofa. That said, the room looks a *little* bare. Perhaps a row of three small prints that don't compete with the panel? An arrangement that creates a horizontal line to contrast with the vertical panel could look interesting. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | LA Good Questions: Dare To Keep Wall Bare? |
