It's got the best breakfast buffet I've ever had, and the location in proximity to the cathedral and the old Humboldt university is wonderful. But the hotel itself is big and very impersonal, the elevator costs extra and you have to stand in line for that. For nearly the same money and an incredible neighborhood (the Brandenburg gate, American and British embassy, the Reichstag (Congress) and the beautiful street Unter den Linden) stay at the Adlon Kempinsky. That's a stay where you're honored as a guest and have an incredible surrounding inside and outside the hotel!

We have two houses, in my partner's house I sleep on the left side, in my own house on the right. So what do I make from that?

My own inside pool has been a dream since long, and considering the cost (apart from building it!!!) of alone heating the thing, this seems a good idea. BUT: having that in your living room takes away all the cosy feeling at least I'd want i my living room and how often would I have to clean it so that it looks as nice and shiny as int here pics and not like dirty mucky pond water?? And what if it ever only starts leaking - and i'd be fiercely looking for cracks all the time!
No, I'll give it a pass. but if friends had it, I'd love to visit them or do the housesitting ;-)

My Miele Softtronic 2245 is definitely worth the price. It's been running since six years without problems, never had any damage to clothes or repair needed. It washes delicates safely with the special honeycomb drum and saves us water. The price was about 900 Euros which equals about 1170 USD.
We also have the Miele Softwind drier, but we hardly ever use it as I normally hang the washing inside or in summer outside in the garden. And it's too much energy wasted. But it is good to have for my daughter's "teenager clothes emergency" cases! As in: Mom, where are my jeans???!

Next to my seat in the breakfast nook I have a 365 pages / pager per day travel calendar - a different place to travel to every day, information on the backside of the leaf. So I get dreaming bout my world travels while eating my muesli in the morning, tearing off a leaf every day. Wouldn't want to miss that! Even though I got all the techie stuff with cloud calendar on phone, desktop and mobile computer.

i love the look of modern sleek white design combined with old dark wood as I grew up with this design in my parents' house. Theirs is biedermeier furniture combined with modern white. We are a large family and frequently had guests, so we had a around 6.7 ft diameter mahogany table with white panton chairs.

I use glasses swipes (get these in a drugstore), alternatively alcohol on tissue and wipe the ball with it.
