I received Smitten Kitchen cookbook, and finally a subscription to Cooks Illustrated. Yay!

Ohhh I love my tangle, it lives on my (home) desk and gets use regularly. I got mine at a corporate training event where everyone was their materials, play dough, a koosh ball, and a tangle.

Keep an eye out. Trader Joes carries this spread, they call it cookie butter or spread. I hadn't been able to find the Biscoff or Spekuloos elsewhere.

At first, we had trouble finding things to put it on. My delivery method of choice is pretzels (also perfect for nutella) and my husband likes it on white bread with marshmallow fluff (disgusting!).

I make this recipe, but I substitute caramelized shallots for onions. Sooo good. My husband and I can eat way too many of these.

Awwww... this post made me miss Kahiki. We always went there for school dance dinners. I never did get to try one of their drinks, it closed the year i turned 21. Looking forward to the Grass Skirt though.

Not a recipe but:
If you throw hot-cooked chicken breasts in the stand mixer for 30-60 seconds, it gives you the nicest shredded chicken.

We also just bought our first house this winter and am furiously prepping for our housewarming/open house this weekend. It's been a month since we moved in, we certainly have had lots of visitors, but we wanted to have an official party for friends who dont just drop in. We did a lot of research determining the difference between an open house and a housewarming party and decided to have both. Mostly because I wanted to make sure family & family friends would come over, but then theres ample time for our closer friend to really party later into the night. Im sure some presents will come, but we certainly arent expecting them.
