I am British but moved to America in my teens so very American. Electric kettles are much faster and more efficient than stove kettles. I have converted many an American roommate. I too like tradition and find the stove top versions cute but don't understand why the aversion to electric. On any current it's much faster (believe me as an avid tea drinker I know this). Michael, your survey answers are so funny and your house so beguiling. I love your arts and crafts pottery, I have mine tucked away and I think I'll be pulling it back out now, I also love the mix of styles and your judicious use of IKEA. sypage: Bertoia was born in Italy but was very much American, moved here when he was 15 and stayed here. He studied design in the US and not in Italy. Even so, mid century designers influenced each other greatly. This house does look very scandinavian, it hardly matters the origin of the furniture, it's the attitude.
