I LOVE this kid's ingenuity!! I don't read in the tub much anymore since my tub is not very comfy. But when I do, one problem I encounter is falling asleep and dropping my book! (Since I tend to take baths at night, when I am already tired, and reading plus warm water both make me sleepy...and don't be alarmed, librarians! I wouldn't read library books in the tub for this very reason.) I wouldn't worry too much about the suction cup here--it looks pretty strong. I second the books on CD idea, too--my seven year old loves to listen to books on CD while playing in the tub.

I agree--tech devices are great for long road trips! Once you're at your destination, though, hopefully the kids (and adults!) will find something more engaging than playing games that they could play at home. That might take a little encouragement (or demand...), especially for the kids, to put those devices away. Sometimes you have to create a little boredom and discomfort for them in order for them to make a little effort to engage in human interaction.

I like these. You would have to have the right setting, and other decor to match, but I think they are colorful, fun, and one of a kind.

Nice room. Except I don't care for the light over the table. I know that's kind of a trend right now, but I don't like the feeling of having something large, dark, and heavy (looking) hanging over my head. I think it would make me nervous.

Wow. I did not realize I was offending people by sending them holiday cards with pictures of just my kids! There are many reasons why we don't include ourselves in the picture, most of them have been mentioned by others already. I personally love getting cards with pictures, whether it is just the kids, or parents included. I like to see how their kids have grown, and I do consider myself to be friends with the kids, too. I am facebook friends with most of the people I receive cards from, too, so I see plenty of pictures of everyone, but still like getting the cards. Otherwise the cards we get are mostly short and sweet greetings (except for a couple of cousins who feel the need to send a newsletter recapping their entire year...ha ha).

This looks almost exactly like a recipe that I found several years ago on Cooking Light.com. I think the only difference is the use of cauliflower instead of green beans, and two cans of tomatoes rather than one. Oh, and the cooking light recipe also has carrots. Anyway, I have made that version MANY times, and it IS delicious! My kids even like it, which is really saying something. (My 6-year old only eats the carrots and potatoes, but still, I don't have to fix her something different! I put in extra carrots and potatoes for this reason.) I also leave out the spinach. I can see where you can really interchange some of the ingredients and still get great results.

Cute! I love the idea, but doesn't seem very practical. Of course, if you can afford one of these, practicality probably isn't your main concern....

Cool! I have a crate that I just moved from my garage to the back patio, and was trying to decide what to do with it! I may try this, and use it as a side table in our living room. Thanks for the idea!

Wow. If it were me, I would have to pass on the house. Not because I necessarily believe in spirits or ghosts or anything, but I would NEVER be able to get that thought out of my head! This is the same reason that I realized years ago that I could not watch horror movies--my overactive imagination! You can be a totally rational person during the day, but drive yourself crazy with "irrational" thoughts when you are by yourself at night. I think the passage of time helps to change these things, so that a death that happened in a house 10 or 15 years ago is much different than one that happened in the last few years. And the fact that this was a suicide-- there is just something very sad and depressing about a person doing that. I think it IS different than someone dying of old age, or of natural causes. I think the neighbor did her a favor by letting her know the circumstances, knowing that this would bother some people. How would you feel if you had already purchased the house, and then found out? I would not be a happy home buyer!

This is totally cool! It looks more like a trampoline to me. My kids would LOVE something like this, but I would be scared that they would use it like a trampoline! Pretty neat idea, though.

Maybe I'm just a little old fashioned (or just getting old!) but I can't imagine having people over for a party and asking them to bring their own glasses! We have a dishwasher, but even if we didn't, I know that it would not take very long to wash 31 glasses. Quick dip in hot soapy water, scrub around the rim, and done. I know there is still some waste with the stickers, but I think it is a much better option than throwing 31 or more barely used disposable cups in the trash!

Nice! My younger sister and I shared a king-size bed for awhile when we were little--this would have been so much cooler! (And probably would have been easier to keep us each on "our side" of the bed!)

Hmm, good idea! I don't really like the flower magnets, but I never thought about using nails (or screws) and those strong little magnets.....I might put some in my kitchen to hang up my kids' artwork!

My sister and her family live in an old rowhouse in Pittsburgh. When we visit them, we always enjoy "stooping" with them and their friendly neighbors, when the weather is nice. That's something you don't get much of in the suburbs....especially down here in the south, where it's too hot to sit outside 3/4 of the year!

I like this. We already try to use markers on disposable cups when we have kids' parties, so this just takes it a step further. And I understand the need for this--if everyone's cup looks the same, and you set it down for a few minutes, you forget which one is yours! Good idea.

I pack my daughters' lunches in an insulated lunch box with a plastic blue ice. I've never had any problems with them, but they don't like mayonnaise anyway, so that's not a problem. I like that the blue ice keeps the lunches colder, not only because it will keep them safer, longer, (not that I'm too concerned about the safety) but because I think most lunch box foods also taste better if they are colder. My 5-yr old also takes milk in a leak-proof sippy cup in her lunch box, and to keep it cold longer (who wants warm milk??) I freeze some milk in ice cube trays and put a few in the cup with the liquid milk. Works great!
